According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training, the official survey of the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) cycle 2025 is being conducted at schools in 60 provinces and cities nationwide, from April 15 to 29.
According to Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam's goal when participating in PISA is to create honest, reliable, and quality indexes on the results of large-scale assessment of general education. At the same time, participating in the survey demonstrates Vietnam's efforts in international integration, to compare and learn from the experiences of advanced education systems in the world, thereby continuously improving and enhancing the quality of education in the country.
2025 is the first year that Vietnam will conduct the PISA survey on computers. The survey was conducted in 195 schools in 60/63 provinces and cities, with 7,200 students participating. The survey areas include: Reading, Mathematics and Science. This is also the first time that Vietnamese students have participated in the assessment of their learning capacity in the digital world.
According to the preliminary assessment of the National Testing Center and Education Quality Assessment, Department of Quality Management, as of April 16, 2025, 36/195 schools successfully organized the official survey. Of which, 30/36 schools achieved a 100% student participation rate; 6 schools had a participation rate of over 95%, ensuring the participation rate as required by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
