Focus on supporting women to solve social problems

To effectively implement Project 938, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has advised and specified the targets, contents and solutions of the project in conjunction with the breakthroughs and key tasks of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Women's Congress, term 2021 - 2026. At the same time, closely coordinate with departments, branches and the Project Steering Committee to promote propaganda and advocacy activities, support women to participate in solving a number of social issues related to women in the province. Promote internal resources to contribute to timely resolving incidents related to the legitimate rights and interests of women and children occurring in the locality. Proactively integrate the implementation of task 1 of the project with movements, campaigns, projects, with 150 communication points in the community, attracting 5,320 members and women to participate.

Accordingly, the Executive Board of Project 938 at district and grassroots levels has implemented many contents to improve the quality and effectiveness of communication, education and mobilization activities for women to preserve and practice morality and legal awareness, proactively participate in effectively solving a number of social issues related to women, such as: Communication provides knowledge and practical skills on reproductive health care, adolescent sexual health for parents with children of adolescent age...

At the same time, focus on communication, raising awareness of cadres, members, women and people on the following contents: 4 moral qualities of women "Confidence, self-respect, loyalty, responsibility"; emulation movement "Building An Giang women of the new era"; Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence, Law on Gender Equality, Law on Marriage and Family; Law on Children; providing information on reliable addresses and shelters for members and women when they are abused; supporting knowledge and skills in organizing to build a happy family life, caring for and raising children, preventing and combating domestic violence; population - family planning; food safety...

In particular, the Executive Board of Project 938 at all levels in the province also focuses on building, consolidating, and supporting models to mobilize and support women to proactively resolve social issues related to women. As a result, 11 "Community Legal Advisory Groups" have been established; 3 model groups "Educating parents to raise good children"; 3 "Women's groups participating in implementing food hygiene and safety". At the same time, replicating models such as: "Legal bookcases in the community" in particularly difficult communes; "Trusted addresses - Shelters" in the community; "Sustainable family development" club; "Domestic violence prevention and control" group; "Trusted addresses in the community"...

In particular, the Women's Union at all levels in the province continues to consolidate and improve the quality of activities of groups, clubs, and models, such as: "Women in food safety and hygiene (An Phu district), "Raising healthy children, teaching children well", "Supporting children in the community" (Chau Phu district), "Educating parents in child care and protection, communicating about marriage and family" (Cho Moi district), "Knowledge for adolescents", "Prevention and control of school violence", "Safe snacking streets" (Long Xuyen city)... The Union also established new models of "Women taking care of health at home", "Supporting intervention and reducing early child labor" (Chau Phu district); "Women exercising" (Cho Moi district); "Female propagandists on traffic safety" (Tan Chau town)...

Vice President of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union Quang Le Hong Chuyen said that in 2025, the Provincial Women's Union will coordinate with all levels, sectors and local authorities in the province to focus on effectively implementing Project 938 with the theme "Parenting education in child care and protection", focusing on intervention contents and support activities appropriate to the subjects, areas, cultural characteristics and socio-economic conditions of each locality. At the same time, propaganda work will be strengthened focusing on key areas, remote areas, ethnic minority areas, groups of women and girls in special circumstances.

Regularly organize training and capacity building for staff performing tasks in preventing and combating domestic violence and gender-based violence; caring for and protecting children; ensuring food safety, supporting women in solving related social issues; promoting research and proposing feasible solutions. Effectively promote practical models to improve the quality of support and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of women, especially women and children who have suffered domestic violence, abuse and trafficking. Educate and mobilize women to maintain and improve their morality and awareness of law compliance; promote the proactive role of women in participating in solving social issues related to women... At the same time, strengthen responsibility, coordination between sectors and effectively integrate with programs, projects and movements, campaigns in the process of implementing Project 938, promptly resolve cases of abuse and violence, aiming to build a safe environment for women and children.
