Visit and wish Chol Chnam Thmay at Ta Miet pagoda
At each destination, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Nguyen Van Len sent New Year greetings to monks, pagoda management boards and Khmer ethnic minorities. At the same time, he acknowledged and praised the positive contributions of Khmer ethnic minorities to local socio-economic development. At the same time, he hoped that people would continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, live a "good life, good religion", preserve traditional cultural identity, actively participate in local movements, and contribute to the development of their homeland.
Checking the construction progress of Svay Ton Pagoda
Ta Miet Pagoda is not only a center for religious and cultural activities of the Khmer ethnic minority in Luong Phi commune, but also an important provincial historical relic - the place where the National Liberation Front Committee of South Vietnam in An Giang province was established during the resistance war against the US to save the country. This is the pride of the Party Committee, government and people of Tri Ton.
Meanwhile, Svay Ton Pagoda is a national architectural and artistic relic. In 2006, the Vietnam Book of Records Center established a record recognizing Svay Ton Pagoda as “The pagoda preserving the most palm-leaf sutras in Vietnam”. In 2017, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism included “Knowledge and techniques of writing palm-leaf sutras of the Khmer people in Tri Ton and Tinh Bien districts” in the list of national intangible cultural heritage.
