On the morning of October 16, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province held a ceremony to commend and reward Vo Quang Phu Duc (grade 12 student majoring in mathematics, Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted), Champion of the Road to Olympia 2024.
Previously, at the final round of the Road to Olympia competition (October 13), Vo Quang Phu Duc excelled over 3 other "climbers" to finish in first place, winning the laurel wreath and a prize of 50,000 USD.
Phu Duc is the 7th contestant from Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted to enter the final round of the Road to Olympia contest, the 3rd person to bring the laurel wreath to Thua Thien Hue province.

Phu Duc said he is very proud to have gone through a long and arduous journey to reach the peak of the intellectual competition that he has been passionate about since childhood.
Sharing about the next stage, Phu Duc revealed that he will focus on completing high school and dreams of becoming a programmer. He wishes to create many applications and infrastructures to help improve people's lives and contribute to building his homeland and country.
According to Mr. Vo Quang Dang (residing in Vy Da ward, Hue city, father of Vo Quang Phu Duc), the champion of Road to Olympia has had a good memory since he was a child. When he watches programs on TV, he remembers them for a long time.
Born into a family with a tradition of studiousness, his grandmother was a teacher and his parents were both engineers, Phu Duc showed an aptitude for natural subjects, especially mathematics, very early on.
Teacher Nguyen Phu Tho, Principal of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, said Vo Quang Phu Duc passed the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2022-2023 school year and became a student in the school's specialized math class.
With the desire to participate in the program Road to Olympia, Phu Duc constantly trained and registered to participate in the Red Laurel contest season 5 organized by Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted. In this contest, he surpassed more than 200 other contestants to win the championship, representing the school to participate in Road to Olympia season 24.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, affirmed that achieving the laurel wreath is a worthy achievement for Phu Duc's efforts. With this outstanding achievement, along with outstanding academic results, the Champion of the Road to Olympia 2024 will have many more steps forward in the future.
