Russian Defense Minister, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, has ordered the equipping of fire support robots with machine guns for use in offensive operations in the special military operations zone. The order was given by Shoigu during an inspection of the implementation of guidelines for the development of advanced weapons at Patriot Park outside Moscow on April 17.

During his visit to Patriot, Minister Shoigu viewed more than 30 samples of weapons, military, special equipment and potential military-technical equipment of 18 industrial enterprises that the Russian army may use in the future.

During the visit, Minister Shoigu also instructed to maximally simplify the procedure for receiving promising weapons into the Russian Armed Forces if they have passed active tests in the special military operations zone.

Previously, the Russian Army also developed robots that will be used in Ukraine, including the "Marker" combat robot powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

Meanwhile, in a recent article on X (Twitter), Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation - Mr. Mykhailo Fedorov said that the country has also conducted tests on 25 robots designed for the military.

Experts say the conflict in Ukraine is the source of unprecedented developments in unmanned technology, with new forms of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) constantly emerging and evolving.
