The winner of the 2024 Ballon d'Or was announced today 2024. The award is given to the player who receives the most votes. The choice is not entirely based on emotion but still has some criteria.

France Football magazine's Ballon d'Or nomination list includes 30 names, but each journalist can only write 10 names on their ballot. The journalists' ranking of the players is also important, because the player who is ranked first will be awarded more points.
In the ballot, the 10 players ranked from top to bottom will receive 15, 12, 10, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 (points) respectively. The scoring method for the women's Ballon d'Or is similar, but only 50 journalists from the top 50 countries in the FIFA rankings are allowed to vote.

An account on social network X leaked the results of the 2024 Ballon d'Or Awards Ceremony. In which, striker Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid) achieved 630 points and came in first. Following Vinicius Jr are Rodri (Man City) with 576 points and Bellingham (Real Madrid) with 422 points.
Striker Erling Haaland only finished 6th despite winning the Premier League and the Golden Boot. He finished just behind Haaland and Lamine Yamal - who is almost certain to win the Kopa Trophy at the awards ceremony. This is awarded to the best player under the age of 21 of the year.

The Ballon d'Or is produced annually, so the winner gets to take the Ballon d'Or home. Currently, the France Football museum still retains the Ballon d'Or of Pele and Maradona for display purposes.
