Boasting long stretches of turquoise water and white sand beaches, Phu Quoc Island, Kien Giang Province, has been named one of the most beautiful islands in the world by American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
CN Traveler announced its 2023 Readers' Choice Travel Awards on October 3, and Phu Quoc has made the list for the second year in a row.
Vietnam's largest island is in the Asian island category, ranking 8th with 88.89 points. Next are Japan's Okinawa - Ryuku Island and the Philippines' Siargao Island.
In 2015, Condé Nast Traveler readers voted Phu Quoc's Sao Beach as one of the 10 most pristine and quiet beaches in the world, alongside other famous destinations such as Fiji and the Maldives.

Besides its stunning landscapes, the 'Pearl Island' is also one of the most attractive destinations in Vietnam thanks to its diverse cultural and historical experiences and a wide range of accommodation options from budget hotels to countless luxury resorts.
Foreign media have hailed Phu Quoc as a “rising star” on the global tourism map thanks to its groundbreaking changes to attract visitors. Charming Sunset Town, which recently opened in the south of the island, has been praised by South Korea’s Yonhap news agency for offering visitors a unique experience of enjoying the beauty of the Mediterranean in a tropical country. Meanwhile, Australia’s Traveler magazine asserted that every corner of Sunset Town will amaze visitors.
Phu Quoc's iconic attractions include the Hon Thom Cable Car - the world's longest 3-wire cable car system that takes tourists from An Thoi town center to Hon Thom Island and Kiss The Stars - Asia's largest multimedia technology exhibition.
In addition, a visit to pepper farms, pearl farms, Ham Ninh fishing village or Phu Quoc National Park and tasting local dishes such as bun quay will help visitors have an interesting experience and a deeper insight into local culture.
Yonhap News also calls Phu Quoc the “Maldives of Vietnam” because the island has a series of high-end resorts that meet the requirements of the most demanding tourists looking for sophisticated accommodation.
Named one of the world's top islands by CN Traveller for the second consecutive year, Phu Quoc has cemented its place on the global tourism map.
