Russia claims its electronic warfare system forced the Ukrainian UAV to crash into the ground on the outskirts of Moscow, with no damage on the ground.
"A terrorist attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on Moscow by the Ukrainian authorities has been prevented. An electronic warfare system disabled an aircraft at 4:00 a.m. on August 20, causing it to lose control and crash into a deserted area," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the plane approached the Russian capital from the south and was intercepted over the Stupinsky military airspace in Moscow region. There was no damage to people or infrastructure in the incident.

Authorities in the western Russian province of Kursk said on Thursday that a Ukrainian drone crashed into a train station and exploded, leaving five people with minor injuries from broken glass. "Emergency services are at the scene. We are verifying the details of the incident," said Kursk Governor Roman Starovoit.
Russian cities and towns have recently seen a number of drone attacks amid the country’s prolonged conflict with Ukraine. The Kremlin said on August 1 that the failed counteroffensive had led Ukraine to “despair and commit terrorist attacks” against Russian civilians and public facilities.
