Overview of the meeting
Attending the meeting were members of the Party Central Committee: Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong - Deputy Head of the Conference Organizing Committee; Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha - Deputy Head of the Conference Organizing Committee; Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Young Delegates Group Nguyen Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Conference Organizing Committee; Chairman of the Committee for Culture and Education Nguyen Dac Vinh; Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Nguyen Quang Huy. Also attending were members of the Organizing Committee, Heads of the Conference Organizing Subcommittees.
Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man welcomed the urgent spirit of the subcommittees and departments that actively met and coordinated with ministries and local branches to deploy the preparation work for the organization of the conference right after the conclusion of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on the preparation work for the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians; at the same time, highly appreciated the Organizing Committee and the Subcommittees for completing a large amount of work in the past time. The Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly suggested that the Organizing Committee and the Subcommittees continue to closely follow Conclusion No. 1521 dated June 28, which is very specific and detailed in terms of program content, scale, and responsibilities of each ministry, branch, unit, and locality; seriously implement the overall project approved by the Politburo, ensuring the successful organization of the conference in terms of content, reception, logistics, security, and propaganda, etc.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man - Head of the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians chaired the meeting.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also emphasized that the Organizing Committee and the sub-committees organizing the conference closely coordinate with the Foreign Affairs Committee; the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment; the Committee on Culture and Education; the Standing Committee of the Group of Young National Assembly Deputies of the XVth tenure and ministries, branches and localities; need to forecast emerging situations and have an official spokesperson. Based on the overall project and the projects of each sub-committee, the Organizing Committee needs to develop and complete a general detailed project to deploy coordination work with relevant ministries, branches and localities to effectively carry out specific tasks in the project.
Previously, reporting at the meeting on the participation of the Vietnamese National Assembly in relation to the content of the Conference, Chairman of the Committee for Culture and Education Nguyen Dac Vinh said that our National Assembly, as the host country, hosted the Conference with a positive, proactive spirit, preparing early and from afar in all aspects. In particular, in terms of content, our National Assembly proactively and actively contributed substantially, ensuring the harmony of Vietnam's interests and the common interests of the region and the world, demonstrating the position and role of the National Assembly of the host country.
Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Education Nguyen Dac Vinh
According to the Agreement signed between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the IPU Secretariat, the contents of the Conference are chaired by the IPU Secretariat and the IPU Global Young Parliamentarians' Forum Leadership Board. Specifically, the IPU Secretariat is responsible for: developing the Agenda; identifying and selecting international rapporteurs; drafting, printing, publishing and disseminating the Conference Outcome documents. Regarding the Conference's theme, the IPU Secretariat and the host country decide and propose to the IPU Global Young Parliamentarians' Forum Leadership Board.
On that basis and based on the conclusions of the National Assembly Chairman at the meetings on preparation and working with relevant ministries and branches, the general theme of the Conference was determined to be "The role of youth in promoting the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals through digital transformation and innovation" and thematic discussion sessions on Digital transformation, Innovation and startups, Cultural values and people in sustainable development.
The Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Education proposed that the Content Subcommittee and the National Secretariat coordinate with the IPU Secretariat to discuss and officially agree on the thematic discussion sessions that have been adjusted according to the Conclusion of the National Assembly Chairman; deploy the work of preparing the content of the Conference, implementing the instructions of the National Assembly Chairman and the Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly at the meetings, and propose that the Subcommittee soon complete the draft Content Project to submit for comments from the Organizing Committee and the National Assembly Chairman before discussing and agreeing with the IPU Secretariat.
Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong - Deputy Head of the Conference Organizing Committee
Reporting on the results of the review of reception - logistics - security - medical and propaganda work, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong - Deputy Head of the Conference Organizing Committee said that the National Assembly Office has developed a reception and propaganda project for the conference; coordinated with relevant ministries and branches in implementing the tasks. The projects were completed based on the conclusions of the Head of the Organizing Committee before being issued.
Regarding the propaganda work for the conference, the Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office stated that the propaganda work for the conference will be carried out through the following channels: domestic and international press, conference website, letters to delegates and social networks.
