On September 5, Comrade Vi Ngoc Bich, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, inspected the work of preventing and fighting storm No. 3 in Binh Lieu district.

According to the report of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Binh Lieu district, up to now, communes and towns in the district have reviewed and counted 16 locations at risk of landslides, flooding, and flash floods; 22 households have dilapidated houses, weak houses at risk of not ensuring safety when prolonged rains and floods occur.
Based on the review, the district has directed and assigned staff to monitor and support people in timely evacuating people and property before storms occur. At the same time, proactively organize to fix landslides in the management area (for landslides), post warning signs at landslide-prone areas so that people can be proactive in being vigilant when storms occur; arrange forces and means to be ready to respond, rescue and salvage when situations occur. Along with that, assign forces to be on duty, closely monitor the developments of storms and floods on the river, have a plan to organize a serious 24/24h shift and promptly and regularly summarize and report the implementation results and response measures to storms; for traffic culverts, deploy additional and complete installation of barrier stations, assign people to be on duty 24/24h.

Inspecting the actual situation in some areas at risk of landslides in Binh Lieu district, comrade Vi Ngoc Bich, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Binh Lieu district is required to regularly review and supplement response plans for each type of natural disaster that may occur in the area, especially plans to respond to storms, floods, landslides, flash floods, and plans to move people to safe places. At the same time, regularly check, review, and request households to reinforce their houses and evacuate them from areas at risk of landslides and rockslides; arrange forces to be on duty 24/7 at spillways; have plans to evacuate people in areas at risk of flooding... Binh Lieu district closely coordinates with the Border Guard and Police to continue to review and assign forces to participate in the on-duty response to storm No. 3.
