On the afternoon of November 7, "Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story" - a film by director Trinh Dinh Le Minh was honored to be selected to open the Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) 2024.
Opening of HANIFF Project Market 2024:
Following the success of the Project Market within the framework of HANIFF 2022, this year, the Department of Cinema continues to coordinate with BHD Company & Vietnam Media Corp to organize the Project Market within the framework of HANIFF 2024.
Project Market is a meeting and experience place for producers, directors and screenwriters who wish to introduce their film projects to investors and leading experts in the world's film industry through seminars and meetings taking place from November 7-10.
This year, the project market received a record number of registered projects, nearly 70 projects from more than 20 countries and territories around the world.
Finally, the Organizing Committee selected 8 outstanding projects from six countries and territories around the world for the presentation round, including: I want to rent Hoai Mai Mai/Love Encoded by director Nguyen Hoang Khoi Nguyen; Nguoi khoc nhi/Tears for Hire by director Do Ha; Memento Mori: Nước/Memento Mori: Water by director Marcus Manh Cuong Vu; The Hidden Legacy Blood Enigma - a cooperation project between Vietnam and Argentina by director Nestor Sanchez Sotelo; Red Lights Blue Angels by director Afsana Mimi (Bangladesh); Rahma by director Faysal Soysal (Turkey); Days of Monsoon by director Honey Ahmad (Malaysia); Elephant of The Blinds by director Ashish Madurwar (India).
The Organizing Committee has invited leading experts to join the Jury of the Project Market, including: Mr. Thibaut Bracq (France) - Film Curator, Consultant; Ms. Jodi Hildebrand (USA) - Producer; Mr. Lee Jin Sung (Korea) - Director of Runup Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Phan Quang Binh (Vietnam) - Director, Producer, Director of Viet Film Studio, Chairman of BHD Company.
The Project Market will close at 2pm on November 10. The awards will be announced at the HANIFF 2024 Closing Ceremony. The best project will receive a cash prize of VND 135 million (equivalent to 5,000 Euros) sponsored by the French Embassy. The second best project will receive the Jury Award. The honorary award aims to encourage and support young, promising directors.
