A series of family-themed TV series have been aired but have not left an impression on the audience. The films still "flop" despite having famous actors.

All three films currently on television, "Cheer up, brothers", "Sao Kim shoots her heart at Sao Hoa", "Nhung duong hon xa" all share the same direction, telling about the life and growing up process of a group of close friends.
Among them, there is a group of 3 close friends who started a business to make ends meet, a group of young friends from the countryside who came to the city to study and start a business, and another group of friends who have been close friends since they were young until they got married.
However, all three films have not created a viral effect, the number of views of the excerpts is only around a few thousand.
Audiences say they feel "suffocated" among their groups of friends because every movie exploits everyday life, lacks creativity, and the stories follow a rut.
Many people say "Venus shoots hearts at Mars" is like a "failed" and more popular version of "Our family suddenly becomes happy".
Meanwhile, "Near and Far Roads" caused controversy because of the 18-year age gap between Viet Anh and Cu Thi Tra, while the recurring motif of a young girl falling into a trap with a man who has experience in love.
A work based on everyday material can be easily accessible and gain sympathy from viewers. However, if there are no breakthroughs in plot and storytelling, the film is predictable and uninteresting.
Not to mention a series of films that were broadcast but could not create discussions on forums such as "Narrow Alley in Common", "Where Dreams Come Back"... despite gathering many veteran and experienced actors.
In "The Narrow Alley In-Law", some details were inserted in a tactless way such as the daughter-in-law hiding for many years without being accepted by her mother, the couple in their 60s having conflicts because of jealousy...
On the current primetime airwaves, the highlight of the script is "Walking in the Bright Sky", about an 18-year-old Red Dao girl facing a crossroads in her life, either leaving her hometown to study medicine or marrying the richest young master in the village to pay off her family's debt.
The film was praised for its majestic and beautiful setting when filmed in Cao Bang, recreating some of the customs and lifestyles of the mountain people. However, the acting of the female lead Thu Ha Ceri was controversial and unconvincing.

Hanging around jealousy, adultery
In recent years, the scenes of jealousy and "the third party" being confronted have been repeated in many television productions with family themes.
Two notable Vietnamese films in 2024 are "We Love Each Other Peacefully" and "Heart Rescue Station", both of which have many jealousy scenes.
Some people even say that in Hong Diem's films, the jealousy scene lasts for many generations. From the first episodes, My Dinh (Thuy Diem) had a jealousy scene, then Ha (Hong Diem) continuously fought with the "third party" or young Ha Lan also vented her anger on her husband's lover.
"Let's Love Each Other Peacefully" once attracted millions of views thanks to the scene where Ly (Chau Duong) replaced her best friend Han (Viet Hoa) in dealing with the third person.
Ly's scene got attention thanks to a series of terrible lines: "Don't be rude. Don't be so brazen as to think you're a saint. Looking from top to bottom, you only smell like a cheap woman. You have no right to lecture others."
The movie "Meeting you on a sunny day" also caused a stir with the scene where Phuong (Anh Dao) threatens Huy's (Dinh Tu) ex-lover.
Situations such as the main wife dealing with a "mistress", the biological mother helping her daughter fight jealousy, the best friend criticizing the female lead's love rival... often attract a large audience, with harsh dialogue.
However, the overexploitation and abuse of love triangle dramas on screen makes the audience feel bored and frustrated.
