At the 5.5G Industry Summit hosted by GSMA, within the framework of Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2024 – MWC Shanghai 2024, Huawei participated in discussions with many carriers, equipment suppliers, etc. to share successes in the development process from 5G to 5.5G.
“5.5G is the core pillar of the mobile AI era. We hope to continue working with industry partners to seize the huge opportunities of the mobile AI era and shape an intelligent world,” said David Wang, Executive Director of the Board and President of the ICT Infrastructure Executive Board of Huawei.
According to Mr. David Wang, the world is witnessing the explosive development of AI (artificial intelligence), the milestone of officially commercializing 5.5G in 2024 will bring many new opportunities in the mobile field. Huawei has researched and innovated 4 core technologies to develop a green 5.5G network and seamless connectivity, providing continuous, uninterrupted services.
High-quality 5G networks are the foundation for 5.5G network deployment, so enhancing 5G networks in residential areas, high-speed railways, urban and rural areas can support multi-function setups for 5.5G networks. In addition, end-to-end intelligent operation processes enable operators to gain comprehensive and in-depth information about network failures, self-heal faults, maximize network efficiency, and improve user experience.
At the conference, Huawei also announced its vision for evolving industry technologies from 5G to 5.5G - aiming for greener, more connected, and more experience-driven mobile networks through long-term innovation in Extremely Large Antenna Array (ELAA) technology, mobile services that deliver differentiated experiences, green solutions for all time-based scenarios, and AI-empowered networks.
