Promoting the role of a bridge to promote and further deepen the special relationship between Vietnam and Chile

NDO - Meeting with officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community living, working and studying in Chile, on the afternoon of November 9 local time (morning of November 10 Hanoi time) in the capital Santiago de Chile, President Luong Cuong emphasized that the Party and State always care about and consider the Vietnamese community abroad an inseparable part, a resource of the national community and an important factor contributing to strengthening the cooperative and friendly relations between Vietnam and other countries; asking the Embassy to continue to promote its role as a bridge to promote and further deepen the special relationship between Vietnam and Chile.

Reporting to the President and the delegation at the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Chile Nguyen Viet Cuong thanked the Party and State for always paying attention to the lives of representative agencies abroad, especially in remote areas like Chile, thereby encouraging the spirit of the Embassy's staff to be determined to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and State.

Ambassador Nguyen Viet Cuong said that the Vietnamese community living and working in Chile, although not large, always knows how to promote the spirit of solidarity and turn towards the Fatherland. In addition to the representative agency staff, the majority of Vietnamese people do business and live in the southern regions of Chile, and a small part in the capital Santiago and northern Chile.

On the basis of the traditional relationship, nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries, the core and continuous task of the Vietnamese Embassy in Chile is to maintain good political relations between the two countries. The staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Chile always believe in the guidelines and policies of the Party and State, as well as the increasingly rising position of the country and the belief in the era of national development, building a developed Vietnam; promise to make efforts to perform well in foreign affairs, promote defense, economic and trade cooperation in the area as well as build a united and cohesive Representative Office, contributing to promoting the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Chile.

The opinions shared by community representatives and overseas students also expressed joy and emotion at welcoming President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation in a country half a world away from the Fatherland; affirming that despite living, studying and working far from their homeland, all of them always receive warm, sincere and united feelings every time they meet at the common home of Vietnamese people in the host country, the Vietnamese Embassy.

Exchanging and chatting warmly with the staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Chile, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong sent his regards with sincere feelings and best wishes.

The President commended and appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Embassy as well as the Vietnamese community in Chile in implementing the foreign policies of the Party and State, contributing to the continued development of the comprehensive cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Chile.

Sharing with the community about the domestic situation, the President affirmed that despite the complicated developments of the world political and economic situation, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the efforts of the entire political system and people of all walks of life, Vietnam continues to maintain macroeconomic stability, inflation is controlled, major balances of the economy are ensured; socio-political stability, national defense and security are strengthened, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity are firmly protected; foreign affairs are promoted and have achieved many positive results.

Emphasizing that the Party and State always care about and consider the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part, a resource of the national community and an important factor contributing to strengthening the cooperative and friendly relations between Vietnam and other countries, the President suggested that the Embassy continue to promote its role as a bridge to promote and deepen the special relationship between Vietnam and Chile; continue to synchronously deploy the fields of political diplomacy, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy and community work, in which priority is given to promoting the role of advising, accompanying and supporting the implementation of economic, trade and investment cooperation programs and projects between the two countries; build a united, clean and strong Party organization and representative agency, preserving the image of the country and Vietnamese people before international friends.

President Luong Cuong hopes that the Embassy will provide timely support to our compatriots in the host country as well as in the concurrently assigned area; at the same time, he hopes that the Vietnamese community in Chile, despite its modest numbers, will always be united, maintain close relations, keep in regular contact and enthusiastically participate in activities towards the roots; strictly abide by the laws of the host country and unite, always looking towards the Fatherland.
