(NLDO)- From administrative inspections during the year, inspection organizations in Thanh Hoa province discovered more than 130 billion VND in violations.
The Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just reported on the results of anti-corruption implementation in 2024, thereby discovering violations of more than 130 billion VND and 861 square meters of land.
Quang Thanh Ward, Thanh Hoa City was criticized by the Chairman of Thanh Hoa City People's Committee for shortcomings and violations in budget management, use and budget settlement.
According to the report, during the year, inspection organizations in Thanh Hoa province conducted 385 inspections, of which 347 were planned and 38 were unscheduled, and issued 336 inspection conclusions.
The functional sector has recovered nearly 68 billion VND to the state budget, handled other economic matters of more than 57 billion VND and 861 square meters of land; administratively handled 173 organizations and 287 individuals.
Specialized inspectors also conducted 280 inspections and checks during the year. Of these, 204 were issued, and 76 were under inspection. Violations were detected, with a total of 511 decisions on administrative sanctions issued, with a fine of more than VND57 billion, and no cases were transferred to the investigation agency for handling.
The report also shows that the content of complaints and denunciations during the year was mainly related to compensation, support, resettlement arrangements, and site clearance when the state reclaimed land to implement projects...
Specifically, through complaint settlement, the competent authority resolved the complaint, returned more than 1.3 billion VND and 755 square meters of land to the individual. 19 individuals were administratively disciplined (including 10 officials, civil servants, and public employees), recovering more than 139 million VND for the state.
In addition, in the reporting period on the results of handling corrupt assets, the amount of money and assets to be recovered from corruption cases was more than 79 billion VND and 16,351 m2...
Notably, through inspection, examination and reflection of public opinion, voters and the press, it is shown that there are still many cases of poor implementation of the code of conduct, signs of "interest groups", collusion between people with positions and powers in the state sector and enterprises; the situation of people with positions and powers "protecting" and covering up violations of the law still occurs...
The above shortcomings and limitations, according to the report, are due to the fact that the system of mechanisms and policies on corruption prevention is not yet truly synchronous, there are still loopholes in some areas, and it has not kept up with the strong development of socio-economic life; the impact of the negative side of the market mechanism and social negativity has more or less affected the ideology and lifestyle of a number of cadres, civil servants and public employees.
In some agencies and units, leaders have not been resolute in directing and organizing the implementation of anti-corruption work; state management and inspection and supervision work in some areas are still loose and open, making it easy for corruption to arise.
A small number of cadres and civil servants lack training and self-discipline, take advantage of loopholes in management, mechanisms, policies, and assigned tasks to harass and profit.
