Launching the "Peak Month for the Poor" in 2024

On November 13, the People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City jointly organized a conference to launch the Peak Month "For the Poor" in 2024.

This is an activity in response to the Peak Month "For the Poor" and the Movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind" launched by the Prime Minister.

People and officials of Thuy Nguyen district registered to mobilize support of 1.5 billion VND to the city's "For the Poor" Fund.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City Dao Trong Duc received support from organizations, businesses and philanthropists.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Dao Trong Duc, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City informed: Currently, the city still has 2,032 poor households (equivalent to 0.32%), 8,998 near-poor households (equivalent to 1.41%). Of which, there are still many deeply poor households, with difficulties in housing and livelihood, without the conditions to escape poverty, especially after storm No. 3, many households are at risk of falling back into poverty, so it is necessary for the whole society to join hands to effectively implement the city's policy of "social security must go one step ahead of economic development".

In order to continue working with the Party and the State to better care for the poor and vulnerable, the People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City calls on businesses, entrepreneurs, agencies, units, organizations and people of all walks of life to actively participate in contributing to the city's "For the Poor" Fund. Thereby, providing practical material and spiritual support for the poor to overcome difficulties and strive to build a prosperous and happy life.

Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung and Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City Dao Trong Duc presented flowers and awarded plaques recognizing businesses with many contributions to the city's "For the Poor" Fund in the period 2019 - 2024.

Responding to the call, right at the Conference, agencies, units, businesses, social organizations, and philanthropists registered to donate more than 31 billion VND to support the city's "For the Poor" Fund.

Representatives of VNPT, Viettel, and Mobiphone Corporations in Hai Phong presented support for 2,300 4G phones.

On this occasion, the Conference also commended and recognized businesses with many contributions to support the City's "For the Poor" Fund for the period 2019 - 2024.
