Speaking at the launching ceremony of the contest, Mr. Van Ba Dung, Director of Binh Dinh Traditional Arts Theater and Head of the Organizing Committee, said that the contest aims to find a common symbol for two theatrical art heritages, Tuong (hat boi) and Ca troc Bai Choi of Binh Dinh province, as the symbol for the theater.

Sharing at the launching ceremony, Ms. Huynh Thi Anh Thao, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Binh Dinh province, said that the intangible cultural heritage of the art of Bai Boi and Bai Choi is one of the valuable assets of the Vietnamese ethnic community, integrating traditional theatrical cultural values as well as historical lessons, experiences, and human attitudes in relation to nature and society.
The Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Binh Dinh province also said that in order to protect and promote the intangible cultural values of the art of tuong and bai choi, it is of great significance, contributing to preserving and fostering the tradition of patriotism, passing on knowledge and experience... Thereby, strengthening the great national unity bloc in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
According to the Organizing Committee, the contestants are Vietnamese citizens living and working in Vietnam; individuals under 18 years old must have a guardian or legal representative. Each author can submit no more than 3 works.
Time to receive entries is from February 27 to 4:00 p.m. August 30; entries must be sent by post or sent directly to the address of Binh Dinh Provincial Traditional Arts Theater.
The works must demonstrate the characteristics of two traditional art forms, Tuong and Bai Choi opera of Binh Dinh; have a solemn and harmonious layout, high aesthetic and generalization, clear, simple, easy to understand, easy to recognize, convenient in using all materials, enlarging and reducing while ensuring artistic quality.
The work has not been used or appeared in any mass media in or outside the country. The first prize of the contest is 80 million VND, with a certificate and 3 consolation prizes, each worth 5 million VND.
