On November 1, the Supreme People's Court held a press conference to launch a songwriting contest about the People's Court. Chairing the press conference, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh said: In recent years, the role of the Court as an agency implementing judicial power and protecting justice has been increasingly affirmed and promoted.
However, in the field of poetry and art, the image of the Judge and Court officer who bravely fights for justice, integrity and dedicatedly serves the people, seems to have not received much attention, has not been mentioned and clearly portrayed.
According to Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh, there have been many examples of judges overcoming pressure to protect justice; judges silently refusing temptation to preserve integrity; judges steadfastly facing dangers to themselves and their families to protect justice, protect the rights and legitimate interests of the people.
In fact, there are also officials who cannot stand the heavy pressure of work. "Currently, according to statistics, there are nearly 1,000 judges who have resigned," said Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, if in 2012, the courts at all levels had to handle about 250,000 cases, by 2022, the number of cases to be handled had reached 700,000 cases. However, the number of staff has not increased, while the demands of the people have increased, and the nature of the work has become increasingly complicated.
However, the majority of judges and court officials are very responsible and love their jobs. Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh hopes that through this creative campaign, he will encourage, promote and foster a love for the judge profession and the responsibility of judges to the people.
“This is the goal we aim for when organizing this campaign. We hope that through the contest we will find music and songs that touch the hearts of the public, last through the years, have long-lasting vitality, and become the pride of the judges,” said Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh.
According to the Organizing Committee, the participants are all Vietnamese citizens living, working, studying and working in Vietnam and abroad. Foreigners living, working, studying and working in Vietnam have the right to participate in the Songwriting Contest about the People's Court.
