French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced that the government will raise the terror alert level to the highest level.
On March 25, French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced that the government would raise the terror alert level to the highest level following the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall Theater in the suburbs of Moscow, Russia on March 22. The announcement was made after a meeting between senior French security and defense officials and President Emmanuel Macron.
Sharing on social network X, Prime Minister Attal said the decision was made after the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) organization admitted to carrying out the attack in Russia and the security threats that France is facing.
France's terror alert system is divided into three levels, with the highest level activated after an attack in France or abroad or a perceived threat of an attack. The highest alert level allows French authorities to take extraordinary security measures, such as increased patrols by armed forces in public places such as railway stations, airports and places of worship.
