(Dan Tri) - Russian air defense forces announced that they had stopped a raid by Ukrainian drones on the capital Moscow.

In the early morning of March 11, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that Russian air defense units shot down at least 11 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flying towards Moscow.
Mayor Sobyanin confirmed that the UAVs were shot down in the Ramenskoye and Domodedovo districts of the Moscow region. Both districts are located about 40km to 50km south and southeast of the Kremlin.
"According to preliminary information, there were no damages or injuries," Mayor Sobyanin said in a post on the Telegram messaging app.
Russia's aviation watchdog said flights were suspended at Zhukovo and Domodedovo airports to ensure air safety after reports of the attacks.
Ukraine has said the airstrikes on Russian territory were aimed at destroying key infrastructure supporting Moscow in its military campaign. The raids were also carried out in response to Russia’s repeated attacks on targets in Ukraine since the conflict began three years ago.
UAVs are considered the "trump card" of the Ukrainian army, along with modern weapons provided by the West. Since the US and its allies have so far refused to allow Kiev to use aid weapons for long-range attacks on Russia, Ukraine is seeking to develop domestic UAVs to carry out such attacks.
Ukrainian UAV strikes have targeted weapons depots, fuel facilities and other military targets deep inside Russian territory. UAV systems, especially bomber-type UAVs, have proven to be highly damaging to the enemy.
The latest attack by Ukrainian UAVs comes as US President Donald Trump is actively seeking a solution to the Ukraine conflict.
Analysts say Russia has the upper hand in potential peace talks with Ukraine brokered by President Trump.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia supports diplomatic measures to resolve the Ukraine conflict, but in the current situation, Moscow must defend itself with a military operation.
Russia declared that it would not compromise, would not give up the territories it had won in Ukraine, opposed the West deploying peacekeeping forces to Ukraine, and rejected the proposal for a temporary ceasefire that Moscow said was only intended to "buy time" to give Kiev time to rearm.
