Striving to create jobs for 10,000 workers

On the afternoon of December 30, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a conference to summarize 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.

Attending the conference were comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of departments and branches; leaders of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of the province, civil servants and public employees of the Department.

In 2024, with the proactive and effective implementation of solutions, programs, projects, and policies on labor, employment, social assistance, poverty reduction, etc., many key targets and plans of the Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs sector have been achieved and exceeded the set plan.

Specifically, the rate of trained workers is estimated at 68.8% (100% of the plan), of which the rate of workers with degrees and certificates is 31%; jobs are created for 15,000 people (103.5% of the plan); the labor structure continues to shift in the right direction, the proportion of workers in agriculture is estimated at 51.7% (100% of the plan); the average poverty reduction rate is 3.7% (92.5% of the plan); the remaining poverty rate is 11.24% (92.5% of the plan); the poverty reduction rate in ethnic minority and mountainous areas is estimated at 6% (100% of the plan)...

The work for people with meritorious services has been carried out well. Activities of caring for, visiting, and giving gifts to people with meritorious services on holidays, Tet, and War Invalids and Martyrs' Day have been carried out carefully. Currently, the provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs is paying monthly allowances to 3,010 people with meritorious services; organizing nursing care for 995 people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs; paying monthly allowances through bank accounts to 2,515 people with meritorious services, reaching 89%.

In addition, the tasks of developing the labor market, wages, social insurance, unemployment insurance, occupational safety and hygiene, social protection... are effectively implemented, contributing significantly to the social security work of the province.

In 2025, the labor, war invalids and social affairs sector strives to create jobs for 10,000 workers; through loans from the National Employment Fund, create jobs for 3,000 workers; increase the rate of trained workers to 70%; reduce the rate of poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard by 3% in 2025; reduce the rate of children in special circumstances from 1.36% (in 2024) to 1.34%; continue to fully and promptly implement social security and social welfare policies; promote the prevention and control of social evils...

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong acknowledged and commended the achievements of the labor, war invalids and social affairs sector in 2024. He suggested that in the coming time, the whole sector continue to perform well in the areas under its management; improve the quality of labor resources, focus on vocational education, training and improving qualifications and skills for workers, because this is the basis for poverty reduction. Continue to do well in poverty reduction, care for the lives of people in difficult areas and areas affected by natural disasters. Promote the results achieved in implementing policies for people with meritorious services in the province, and continue to care for and have specific policies for these subjects....

On this occasion, 5 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs for their outstanding achievements in emulation movements to carry out labor, meritorious people and social tasks in 2023. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Emulation Flag to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs for its outstanding achievements in the regular emulation movement in 2023; awarded the title "Excellent Labor Collective" to 1 collective.
