Pakistan’s Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives (MOPDSI) has released a comprehensive blueprint to address climate change while promoting sustainable development goals under the National Climate Change Policy (NCCP).
According to a statement by MOPDSI, in 2021, the Government of Pakistan approved the NCCP to pursue sustainable economic growth by addressing challenges arising from climate change, integrating climate change policies with other relevant national policies, and building climate-resilient infrastructure.
Based on this policy, MOPDSI has developed a National Climate Finance Strategy to identify priorities and scale up climate finance. Pakistan is one of the countries in the world most affected by weather-related hazards and climate change.
