Mr Trump’s move means Ms Harris and Ms Clinton will not have access to classified information. Mr Trump defeated Ms Clinton in the 2016 election and Ms Harris last year.

"I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to have access to classified information," Trump said in a memo late on March 21, naming former Vice President Harris, former Secretary of State Clinton and former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, according to Reuters.
Trump has previously revoked the security clearances of a number of Democrats and Republicans who have opposed him, including former President Joe Biden, former National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney and former National Security Council member Fiona Hill, a Russia expert who served in Trump's first administration.

While the recall may not have an immediate impact, it is another sign of the growing political divide in Washington as Mr. Trump seeks to retaliate against those he views as enemies.
The memo came hours after Mr Trump arrived at his golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey, for a weekend getaway.
National security lawyer Mark Zaid, who represents the whistleblowers, and former Republican congressman Adam Kinzinger, a frequent critic of Mr Trump, are among several others whose security clearances have been revoked.
Former US presidents have traditionally been provided with intelligence briefings so they can advise sitting presidents on national security and foreign policy. In 2021, after taking office, Mr. Biden also revoked Mr. Trump's security clearance.
