Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (HoSE: MSB) has just announced the decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Phi Hung as Deputy General Director from October 30.
Mr. Nguyen Phi Hung graduated with a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Asian Institute of Technology - AIT. He has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and finance sector, and has held many important positions at Petrolimex Joint Stock Commercial Bank (PG Bank), Global Petroleum Joint Stock Commercial Bank (GPBank), Citibank Hanoi, etc.
Mr. Hung also held the position of Deputy General Director, in charge of the Operations Division of Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB).
Before being appointed to this position, Mr. Hung resigned from the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of PG Bank after three months in office. On November 2, 2020, he joined PG Bank as Acting General Director and was appointed to the position of General Director from December 10, 2020.
In July 2021, he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of PG Bank. He was officially appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of PG Bank from July 2, 2023 and resigned after 3 months.
Replacing Mr. Hung's position is Mr. Pham Manh Thang - who was recently appointed by the Board of Directors of PG Bank as Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on October 23.
Regarding business performance, at the end of the first 9 months, MSB's total operating income (TOI) reached VND 9,567 billion, up 19% over the same period in 2022. Net interest income reached more than VND 6,800 billion, up 9% over the first 9 months of last year.
Net income from service activities reached VND 1,315 billion, up 54% over the same period in 2022, of which revenue from payment services accounted for 43% of total service fee revenue.
Net profit from foreign exchange trading activities reached nearly VND 1,031 billion, up 16% over the same period last year, continuing to promote MSB's pioneering position in this field .
