On the evening of January 19, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore and the Vietnamese Liaison Committee in Singapore organized the 2025 Spring At Ty Community Tet, with the theme "Tet in the past Tet" for a large number of overseas Vietnamese living and working in this island nation.

The Tet atmosphere is clearly visible right at the registration desk located right in front of the room reserved for the 2025 Community Tet event at the Shangri-la Hotel (Singapore).
The large backdrop has the red words "Tet xua Tet xua" along with decorative images of calligraphy, apricot blossoms, peach blossoms... On both sides of the backdrop are two golden and red unicorns welcoming guests. Everyone comes to this corner to take a few photos to "check-in". Inside the auditorium, there is also a booth demoing Chung cake wrapping and an AI calligrapher booth.
According to the organizers, about 400 overseas Vietnamese have been invited to participate in the program "Tet xua Tet xua" this time.
This is also the first time the new Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore, Tran Phuoc Anh, has met overseas Vietnamese. He has only been in office since early January 2025.
In his opening speech, Ambassador Tran Phuoc Anh emphasized that the large number of people attending the event showed the affection, solidarity, and mutual love of the Vietnamese community in Singapore.
"These are the humanistic values and precious traditions of the Vietnamese people," the ambassador said.
He hopes that the Vietnamese community in Singapore will continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, unity, constantly innovate and strive to affirm the image of a dynamic, intelligent and brave Vietnamese community in Singapore.
Also on this occasion, the ambassador awarded certificates of merit to groups and individuals with many positive contributions to community activities in 2024.
Ambassador Tran Phuoc Anh also "revealed" that the Embassy had ordered packages from his hometown and brought over banh tet as gifts for the community, as a little bit of homeland love, a little taste of Vietnam sent to people far away.
A new feature of this year’s community Tet is that the Embassy has organized a booth for Ong Do applying AI technology. Each participant can request a calligraphy word created by the machine (AI) and sent to each person’s phone.
The ceremony was made more exciting with fun games, homegrown music performances from the island nation and the most exciting part was the lucky draw.
Mr. Cao Nguyen, a Vietnamese who has lived in Singapore for more than 22 years, said he was very impressed with the way the Embassy organized this year's community Tet.
According to Mr. Cao Nguyen, this is an opportunity for the Vietnamese community to meet and exchange with each other in a friendly and open atmosphere on the occasion of the Spring. In addition, the organization of the Embassy this year is very close, with interaction through collecting opinions from attendees by scanning QR codes to record feedback, in order to be able to organize better for the next events.
The 2025 Community Tet Party of the Year of the Snake with the theme "Tet in the past Tet" ended with the performance of the song "Spring in Ho Chi Minh City" by 4 members of Ambassador Tran Phuoc Anh's family, surprising and enthusiastically interacting with the guests.
