According to the report of the Department of Technical Safety and Industrial Environment (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the water level of hydroelectric reservoirs in the Northern and Southeastern regions increased slightly; the Central Highlands region fluctuated slightly; the North Central region and South Central Coast region decreased slightly compared to yesterday.
Reservoirs in river basins and small streams in the northern mountainous region have high water levels (Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang).
Large hydroelectric reservoirs in the Northern region generate electricity according to the operating and mobilization procedures of the operating agency; the Southeast and Central Highlands regions are raising the water level of their reservoirs and generating electricity according to the operating and mobilization procedures of the operating agency.
Small hydroelectric reservoirs in the Northern region are increasing their power generation capacity to lower water levels, ready to welcome floods.
There are currently only two lakes with low water levels in the whole country: Thac Ba and Ban Ve.
Hydrological forecast, 24-hour water flow to lakes in the Northern, Central Highlands, and Southeast regions fluctuates slightly; North Central and South Central coastal regions decrease.
According to an updated assessment by the Electricity Regulatory Authority (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the Southern region has entered the rainy season, so most of the reservoirs have good water levels and higher than the average of many years. The Central region is differentiated by region (good water levels in some hydroelectric reservoirs in Quang Nam and Da Nang provinces), while other regions have poor water levels at less than 50% of the average of many years.
In the Northern region, water levels are still much lower than the average of many years, generally at 30-45% of the average of many years. Water output (including small hydropower) on weekdays averages about 263.8 million kWh/day.
According to the Electricity Regulatory Authority, from July 7-13, due to the impact of prolonged heat, the Northern load recorded the highest capacity and output ever at 23,094MW and 465.9 million kWh.
Regarding national load, the average daily output reached 920.7 million kWh, about 39.9 million kWh higher than last week; the maximum capacity during the week reached 45,474 MW, the highest since the beginning of the year, 1,723 MW higher than last week.
The total electricity output of the entire national power system, including imported electricity, during this period reached 6.129 billion kWh, up 3.59% over the previous week; the daily average reached 875.6 million kWh.
The total electricity output of the entire national system accumulated from the beginning of the year to the end of July 13 reached 147,024 billion kWh, 1.35% higher than the same period in 2022, reaching 51.68% of the yearly plan.
