To celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11, the Embassy of Sweden and Plan International Vietnam organized the event Girls Takeover 2024.
This is an annual initiative to promote gender equality by empowering girls and young women to experience leadership roles. By participating in the activity, girls are not only given the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership potential, but also have the opportunity to contribute a common voice to issues that are directly related to them in society.
This year, female student Tran Ha Anh spent a day as Swedish Ambassador Johan Ndisi.
In addition to experiencing a day as an ambassador, Ha Anh also had the opportunity to participate in a very meaningful discussion revolving around the topic of creating opportunities and empowering leadership for women and girls.

Sharing after the experience, Ha Anh emotionally said: "Girls Takeover 2024 is a testament to the great potential of girls and young women to lead and create positive changes. This program gives us the opportunity to raise our voices, face challenges and take action to find practical solutions. This is just the beginning!"
During the event, Ambassador Ndisi emphasized Sweden's strong commitment to the journey towards gender equality: "By supporting and championing the next generation – the generation of young female leaders – we hope to break down traditional gender stereotypes. When a girl is empowered and given opportunities, she will not only have the ability to change her own life, but also the ability to change the lives of her family and local community at the same time."
