NTO - Thematic monitoring delegation of the Provincial People's Council works with the Department of Labor

In the period of 2020 - 2023, social assistance work in the province has achieved many encouraging results. 100% of vulnerable people who meet the regulations are entitled to regular social assistance in the community, emergency social assistance, care and nurturing in the community, social assistance facilities, and social houses. Thereby, vulnerable people are increasingly cared for in both material and spiritual terms, contributing to reducing the economic burden on families, helping them stabilize and improve their quality of life. According to statistics, the whole province has made regular social assistance payments in the community to 93,032 people, with a total cost of nearly 547.7 billion VND; supported 63,160 health insurance cards, with a cost of 51.2 billion VND; supported funeral expenses for 5,837 people, with a cost of 34.1 billion VND. Regarding emergency social assistance in the community, the province has provided rice to relieve hunger for people during the Lunar New Year and during the COVID-19 pandemic with a total of nearly 5,412 tons of rice; supported 68 households whose houses were burned, washed away, or collapsed, with an implementation cost of 808 million VND...

Concluding the working session, Comrade Lam Dong acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs in implementing social security laws and policies for social security beneficiaries, ensuring transparency, timeliness, completeness and compliance with regulations. At the same time, he requested the Department to have a more thorough assessment of: Results of socialization work in caring for and supporting social security beneficiaries; results of inspection and supervision of the implementation of social security laws and policies. Strengthen the application of information technology in management and policy settlement for social security beneficiaries. Promote non-cash payment of social security benefits. It is necessary to review and carefully study the policies and support levels for social work collaborators.
