Mrs. Tran Thi Nhan (Quyet Tien village) is busy making beds and sowing vegetable seeds.

Ms. Tran Thi Nhan (Quyet Tien village) said: "This season, I have cultivated more than 4 sao of vegetables. Currently, I have planted 2 sao, and the remaining 2 sao are being prepared and planted in the next few days. This year, my family planted early, so we expect to sell the first batch of vegetables in mid-November."

Not far from Ms. Nhan's field, Ms. Le Thi Ha is also busy leading the buffalo to plow the field. "My family grows nearly 3 sao of cauliflower. The land preparation stage is very important, so special attention is paid to making large beds for the plants to grow. Due to the recent rainy weather, I only started to prepare the land on October 5th, and so far I have completed about 90% of the area," said Ms. Le Thi Ha.

For many years, farmers in Thach Lien commune (Thach Ha) have considered winter crop as the main crop that brings high economic efficiency. Therefore, after a few sunny days, the land is drier, and people mobilize labor to go to the fields to grow winter vegetables.

Ms. Tran Thi Chau (Tho village) said: “Early winter weather often rains a lot, so this time I proactively planted seeds in my home garden, which is well covered, before bringing them to the concentrated planting area. My family proactively composted manure, covered them with tarps, and waited for the weather to stabilize before planting seedlings.”

At this time, the production atmosphere of the people is also becoming busier in all the fields of Bui La Nhan commune (Duc Tho district). Due to the recent heavy rain, people are mainly just preparing the land and planting some vegetables and tubers.

Ms. Tran Thi Dan (Quyet Tien village, Bui La Nhan commune) planted 5 sao of vegetables, mainly radish, Chinese cabbage, and Chinese broccoli. Ms. Dan shared: "I grow vegetables using the overlapping method (each batch is 15-20 days apart), so vegetables are harvested continuously, bringing steady income and avoiding risks. During the recent rain, I was on duty in the field to clear drainage ditches, raise the beds, support the vines... to help the plants recover after the dry season. In the past few days, I have focused on preparing the soil, fertilizing, and making beds to plant new batches."
