Two key irrigation projects are being implemented in Dak Nong, including: Nam Xuan Lake Canal System Project, Krong No District and Dak Gang Lake Project, Dak Mil District.
The Nam Xuan Lake canal system project has a total investment of more than 242 billion VND, of which the central budget capital is more than 200 billion VND, the rest is local capital.

The project serves to irrigate 1,700 hectares of production land and provide domestic water for about 3,000 people. As of mid-April 2025, the project implementation volume reached 64% of the contract value, equivalent to VND 104 billion.
Currently, the project's site clearance work has not been completed. Specifically, there are still 6.2 hectares of land that have not been handed over due to regulations on support for over-density plants and encroached land.
The investor (Dak Nong Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board) is coordinating to complete the compensation plan, striving to submit it for approval before April 25, 2025.

The Dak Gang Lake project has a total investment of VND 1,082 billion and was started in February 2025. The project aims to provide irrigation water for nearly 1,900 hectares and domestic water for about 8,000 people in Dak Mil and Cu Jut districts.
To date, the construction progress has only reached about 5% of the construction contract value, with disbursement reaching 44.9 billion VND. The project needs to reclaim 213 hectares of land but has only completed 32 hectares. Currently, the project is both under construction and carrying out site clearance.

Dak Nong proposed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development consider allocating additional central budget capital to temporarily replace the unbalanced counterpart capital from the locality, especially 100 billion VND for the first 5.53km of the main pipeline of the Dak Gang Lake Project.
Currently, Dak Nong cannot arrange counterpart funds for the two projects in time due to pressure on public investment spending and the medium-term plan for the 2021-2025 period.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep acknowledged the efforts of Dak Nong province in implementing the two projects.
The province needs to speed up compensation and site clearance for the two projects, especially quickly removing obstacles regarding support mechanisms for assets and crops on land.

The projects have been implemented and the central government has allocated capital, so Dak Nong needs to speed up the implementation progress to ensure the set plan.
