School violence cases that caused a stir in public opinion in 2024

(Dan Tri) - The year 2024 recorded many stories of school violence, including outsiders breaking into schools to beat teachers/students and students beating and seriously injuring their friends right in school.

Student stabbed friend seriously injured at school

On December 23, social media went viral with two clips, recording a group of students wearing gym uniforms with the name of Phu Quoi Secondary and High School (Long Ho district, Vinh Long) beating up two other female students wearing uniforms similar to those of Loc Hoa Secondary School.

A group of students gathered in a deserted area, grabbed two other female students by the hair, pulled them down, and punched and kicked them repeatedly. The two female students who were beaten could only hold their heads and lie on the tiled floor, enduring the beating, but no one intervened.

On December 6, a female student from LVGN residing in Thanh Son village, Trung Chinh commune, Nong Cong district (Thanh Hoa) was beaten by a group of schoolmates, breaking her cervical vertebrae. The results of the examination showed that she suffered 23% physical injuries at the time of the examination. Since the day she was beaten by her friends, female student N. has not been able to go to school because of her poor health and has had to have her neck immobilized.

On the evening of November 28, student D.PVS, a 10th grader at An Bien High School, was beaten by a group of young men in Thu Ba town, An Bien district, Kien Giang province, resulting in hospitalization. Thu Ba town police have stepped in to investigate and handle the case.

On the morning of November 11, after the flag-raising ceremony at school, TCU (9th grade student) and his friend NXTh. (8th grade) had a conflict with DTKT and TTTTr. (both 9th grade students at Nguyen Hue Secondary School, Dak Mil District, Dak Nong Province).

U. used a sharp object like a knife to stab T. about 7-8 times, causing her to collapse on the spot. Th. rushed in and stabbed Tr., causing injuries. The two female students were taken to Dak Mil District Medical Center for emergency treatment.

On the afternoon of October 25, a clip of a male student at Dai Dong Secondary School, Thach That, Hanoi, sitting in a corner of the hallway and being beaten and filmed by a group of friends was spread on social media, causing outrage among many people. All the male students in this clip were students in the same class.

On the afternoon of October 20, a female student of class 7/3 at Ngo Gia Tu Secondary School (An Phu Commune, Pleiku City, Gia Lai) was taken by a group of classmates to the field behind the school, buried in the ground, beaten, and filmed stripping her naked. The following afternoon, October 21, the group waited for her to return to the same location, continued to beat her, buried her in the mud, pulled her hair, and stripped her clothes.

On the evening of October 19, due to a previous conflict, a male student of Anh Xuan Secondary School (Nam Dan District, Nghe An) was forced by his classmates to sit down and put dirt in his mouth. After eating the first handful of dirt, the male student was forced to continue smoking.

Teacher/student at school, humiliated by outsiders

Ms. N.TM.K., a teacher at Vinh Phuoc 1 Primary School (Nha Trang city), said that on December 23, while teaching in class 1/1 of the school, she was attacked by two men who rushed into the classroom, then dragged her out to the middle of the schoolyard and humiliated her.

The reason is that teacher K. borrowed money from teacher M., a colleague at school, but has not paid it back.

Teacher K. confirmed that Ms. M.'s husband and son stormed into the classroom, assaulted her, dragged her out into the middle of the schoolyard, and humiliated her, causing her to expose herself in front of many people. Ms. M. admitted that her husband and son went to school to "talk" to teacher K. but denied storming into the classroom to assault her as alleged.

On December 11, a representative of the Board of Directors of Nam Ly Secondary School No. 1, Nam Ly Ward, Dong Hoi City (Quang Binh), said that they had requested the authorities to investigate the incident in which a group of people showed signs of intimidating and threatening students of the school.

At around 1:45 p.m. on December 10, as students were preparing for afternoon classes, a group of people stormed into Nam Ly Secondary School No. 1, grabbed a female student by the collar, and threatened her.

After discovering the incident, the school quickly closed the school gate and reported to local authorities and police.

Recently, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghia Dan district, Nghe An province requested the school to temporarily suspend the teacher who caused many preschool children to be beaten and bruised.

Accordingly, 3 children in class 5 years old A2, Nghia Loc Kindergarten, were abused with many marks on their shoulders, legs (from thighs to feet), head and cheeks...

The reason was that Tr.Ng.QA (born 2019), a student in the same class, used a plastic ruler and a glue stick to beat the three children above.

A sixth grade male student at Le Quy Don Secondary School in Duy Xuyen District, Quang Nam Province was beaten with a ruler by his homeroom teacher, leaving both legs bruised. The homeroom teacher has been suspended from work pending investigation by authorities.

On October 10, during a math class, Ms. T. (Ba Dinh Primary School, Bim Son, Thanh Hoa) discovered N. using a toy. Unable to control her emotions, Ms. T. twisted N.'s ear and patted her back and head, causing N. to be injured.

This is not the first time Ms. T. has "physically impacted" a student. In the 2023-2024 school year, this teacher used a ruler to hit a student, leaving his arm bruised and bruised.

Because he was mocking his friend for losing a soccer match at school, B., a male student at Nguyen Du Secondary School (Tam Ky, Quang Nam) was beaten by two classmates, leaving his face bruised.

After taking his son to a medical facility to check for the facial injury, B.'s father returned to the classroom to beat the two students who had assaulted his son.

Although all three parties have written statements and admitted their mistakes, many people believe that the parents' way of using their fists to resolve their child's frustration is completely wrong.

Previously, on March 25, in Hai Duong, there was an incident in which a 7th grade female student was assaulted by a young man, who slapped her repeatedly on the head and face. According to the leader of the People's Committee of An Thuong Commune (Hai Duong City), the female student had a minor conflict with a 9th grade student at the same school. Seeing this, the 9th grade student's uncle attacked the 7th grade female student.
