Exemplary party members in remote areas

In Ngoi Khu village, Dao Vien commune, Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang province, comrade Giang Thi Chia - Party cell secretary and head of the Front Work Committee is a typical example, always trusted by the people and party committees, authorities and localities. There were periods when comrade Giang Thi Chia simultaneously took on three roles: Head of the Women's Union, Head of the Farmers' Association and Head of the Front Work Committee. She served three terms as a delegate to the Commune People's Council, 14 years as Secretary of the village Party cell and more than 7 years as a prestigious person in the locality.

At the age of 73, Party Cell Secretary Giang Thi Chia still diligently visits each family, propagating the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, mobilizing people to change their way of thinking, working, and developing the household economy.

According to him, the responsibility of party members must always be put first. In all matters, if party members do not promote their exemplary role, it will be very difficult to change the way people think and act. Practicing goes hand in hand with practicing, Secretary Chia is always the leader in the movements of the village, using the effectiveness of his family to persuade people to implement.

To help people change their farming habits and switch to two-crop rice cultivation, the Secretary's family experimented on two fields, resulting in higher yields, so people voluntarily followed suit.

To encourage the replication of this method, he supported households with difficulties in rice seeds to experiment with growing two rice crops; combined with planting large timber forests, developing economic models under the forest canopy, the lives of villagers have improved significantly.

Comrade Pham Hoang Linh, Secretary of the Dao Vien Commune Party Committee, shared: The Dao Vien Commune Party Committee has 218 party members, operating in 12 party cells; 6 out of 7 prestigious people in the area are party members. They are all typical examples in the movements of new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas... contributing to increasing the average income in 2024 to 37 million VND/person, an increase of 2 million VND compared to 2023; reducing 83 poor households and 73 near-poor households.

Throughout Tuyen Quang province, a team of more than 1,370 prestigious people in the community (of which nearly 830 are party members) have become effective collaborators, contributing to improving the leadership and direction capacity of Party committees and the consensus of the people, effectively implementing the Party and State's policies at the grassroots level.

Muong Hoa Commune, 12km from Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province, has 95.6% of the population being H'Mong, the rest being Kinh, Tay, and Day ethnic groups. This is a difficult mountainous area.

Muong Hoa Commune Party Secretary Giang A So said that promoting the role of party members who are prestigious people in the community, in Muong Hoa, many effective models have been formed such as: Raising native black chickens, not letting livestock roam freely, developing community tourism associated with preserving H'Mong ethnic culture, joining hands to raise awareness of keeping the rural environment clean; spreading the cultural identity values ​​of ethnic groups, towards sustainable development...

Comrade Chau A Sinh is one of the oldest party members of Muong Hoa Commune Party Committee, a prestigious person in Hoa Su Pan 1 village. Fulfilling his responsibilities as a prestigious person, Comrade Chau A Sinh regularly visits households to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people, and at the same time shares the new policies of the Party and the laws of the State.

Comrade Chau A Sinh confided: “In the past, Muong Hoa still had many backward customs because living and working habits were deeply rooted in the people's thinking and lifestyle. Now everything has changed. When a family member passes away, the funeral is organized according to the new lifestyle. People take the initiative to send their children to school, not having to go to each house to persuade them like before. In particular, the situation of early marriage and incestuous marriage basically no longer exists. Livestock barns have been moved far away from houses, so the village and hamlet are much cleaner.”

Positive changes in people's lives, sustainable changes in local economic, cultural and social development have important contributions from the leadership and example of prestigious party members. They are the bridge that helps party committees and organizations grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people, promptly remove obstacles and difficulties, and become a solid "support" for the people of the village and hamlet.
