Solving the problem of real estate supply and demand gap At the meeting with leaders and key agencies of the Ministry of Construction on the morning of February 15, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that this agency will deploy a series of measures to help the real estate market develop stably and sustainably in the coming time, focusing on solving the problem of supply and demand. According to Mr. Nghi, the real estate market in 2023 has faced many difficulties since the beginning of the year, especially the shortage of supply and imbalance in product structure, commonly in the real estate segments of mid-range and high-end housing, tourism real estate showing signs of surplus. Meanwhile, the social housing segment, housing for workers and commercial housing with prices suitable for low-income and middle-income people are severely lacking in supply, failing to meet people's needs. Many real estate projects are facing difficulties with legal procedures related to investment, land, construction, etc. According to Mr. Nghi, the positive signs of the real estate market raise expectations that the market will gradually recover and develop again in 2024. Focusing on development plans On February 15, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that in the context of the world and domestic situation being forecasted to continue to develop complicatedly and unpredictably, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will resolutely focus on promoting and implementing more quickly the key groups of tasks and solutions for 2024 in the spirit of discipline, responsibility, proactiveness, speeding up creativity, and sustainable efficiency. According to Mr. Dung, for businesses, to achieve the set goals, it is necessary to promote the spirit of innovation, self-reliance, and self-reliance, further promoting proactive adaptation, taking advantage of every smallest opportunity, having plans to adapt to future fluctuations; anticipating new trends, especially green economy and circular economy. Enterprises also need to promote digital transformation, apply science and technology; pay more attention to training to improve the quality of human resources and the regime of retaining workers, especially skilled and highly qualified workers. Mr. Dung said that in the coming time, one of the major tasks of the national master plan is to complete the expressway network. In 2024, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will focus on the task of developing regulations as well as completing plans to submit to the Government for approval. With the national master plan, by the end of 2023, 18/39 national sectoral plans and 52/63 provincial plans have been approved. The remaining five regional plans (outside the Mekong Delta) have also been appraised and approved, and are being finalized for approval. The Ministry of Planning and Investment is conducting research to propose mechanisms and policies for the development of dynamic regions and priority economic corridors identified in the planning, expected to be submitted to the Government for consideration and promulgation in 2024.
