Heavy rain for more than two hours in Nhon Trach and Long Thanh districts... caused many roads and residential areas to be submerged in water. The heavy rain also happened when workers got off work, causing traffic jams on many roads. Some people had to wade through the water and push their motorbikes home.
Roads such as Hung Vuong, Ly Thai To... were heavily flooded, in many places deeper than half a wheel causing many vehicles to stall. At the "flood center" Lo Ren intersection, Long Tho commune (Nhon Trach district), the water was more than 50 cm deep, cars passing by stalled and had to stop and wait for rescue vehicles to arrive. Many residential areas in this area were also flooded, causing damage to property in homes.
In recent years, due to the strong urbanization process in Nhon Trach, the drainage system could not "bear" the load of rainwater, causing localized flooding many times. In early June, heavy rain for many hours caused many streets and residential areas in this district to be heavily flooded. A wall in Nhon Trach 3 Industrial Park collapsed, creating a "flash flood" that swept away many properties of people in Hiep Phuoc town and damaged roads and public works.
According to the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, the province currently has 39 urban flooding points, mainly concentrated in Bien Hoa City, Long Khanh and Trang Bom and Long Thanh districts. To address the flooding situation, in addition to many component projects, the province is planning to invest in a synchronous main drainage system for all major urban areas.
Heavy rain also flooded many streets in Binh Tan District and National Highway 1 (HCMC), making it difficult for people to move around. Water was almost half way up the wheel in some places on Ho Ngoc Lam Street and Huong Lo 1, causing many vehicles to stall.

The Tan Tao underpass was flooded nearly 30cm deep, causing traffic disruption, forcing many workers from the Pouyuen company to find another way or wait for the water to recede. In May, the nearly 40m-long underpass located under National Highway 1 was flooded because the drainage ditches were blocked by trash and plastic bags.
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the tropical convergence zone operating in the East Sea combined with the southwest wind has caused heavy rain in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces. The average rainfall is from 20-40 mm. Tomorrow, this area is forecast to continue to have thunderstorms in the evening.
