Many universities in Ho Chi Minh City announced a 3-4 week Tet holiday schedule, some schools let students study online one week before and after Tet.

Students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade have 28 days off for Tet

Up to now, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade is the school that gives students the longest Tet holiday in 2025, 28 days, from January 20, 2025 to February 16, 2025 (December 21, Giap Thin year to January 19, At Ty year).

According to Mr. Pham Thai Son - Director of the Admissions and Communications Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade - the school's Tet holiday is equivalent to 2024. When the Tet holiday is extended, the summer vacation is only seven weeks, so the school's training plan for the school year is still guaranteed.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) will have a 3-week Tet holiday (from January 20, 2025 to February 9, 2025).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Dung, director of HUTECH Media Center, added: "The school's official schedule is Tet holiday from Monday, January 20.

However, students who finish their exams earlier will have a few days off (depending on the subject and exam schedule). On Saturdays and Sundays, students usually still have some subjects, so it is possible that some students will still have exams on those two days.

The University of Information Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) plans to have Tet holiday from January 26, 2025 to February 16, 2025. However, in previous years, students of this school could have Tet holiday one week earlier than the school's schedule, because at that time students had finished their exams.

Study online 1 week before and after Tet holiday

Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan - Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry - said that the school plans to give students a 3-week Tet holiday in 2025, from January 20, 2025 to February 11, 2025.

"If we add two consecutive weekends before the holiday, students will have a total of 24 days off. In addition, the school allows students to study theory online one week before and after the Tet holiday.

Thus, during Tet, the school's students can stay in their hometowns for nearly 40 days. The school has developed a plan to teach online one week before and after Tet holiday, which will help reduce traffic congestion and travel costs for students while ensuring the training plan," said Mr. Nhan.

According to the plan announced by Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, students will have a two-week Lunar New Year holiday, from January 23, 2025 to February 5, 2025.

The school organizes online learning for students one week before Tet holiday (from January 16, 2025 to January 22, 2025) and one week after Tet holiday (from February 6 to 12, 2025).
