After the Lunar New Year holiday, many universities implemented online teaching for the first 1-3 weeks to reduce the lack of students when they return to school.
According to the latest announcement from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education , all students will continue to have Tet holiday until February 9. From February 10, students will start the second semester online.
From February 24, students will return to in-person classes. With this schedule, students at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education can continue to stay in their hometowns for 3 more weeks after Tet.
The school notes that students who have internships scheduled after Tet must follow the plan. Faculties, departments, centers, and training institutes will resume work this week.

The University of Finance and Marketing announces the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule for students from January 25 (December 26) to February 9 (January 12), lasting 2 weeks and 2 days. The week following the Lunar New Year holiday, students will study online and return to school on February 17.
According to the school representative, this arrangement is to reduce the pressure of transportation and travel for students during Tet.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry gives students a Tet holiday from January 20 (December 21) to February 9 (January 12). Students can study online one week before and one week after the Tet holiday, returning to school from February 17.
Some other universities in Ho Chi Minh City also flexibly planned online teaching and learning so that students have more time to return home for the long Tet holiday, such as: Ho Chi Minh City University of Law; Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture; University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University); Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics... These schools all let students study online in the first week after Tet.
During the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, workers nationwide will have 9 days off (from January 25 to February 2). Most universities will give students a longer break. The reason is that schools have the initiative to plan their training and the school year time frame.
In addition, Tet holiday often coincides with the end of the first semester, so the holiday schedule does not affect students' studies. The long holiday schedule helps students have more time with their families, avoid peak travel times and reduce costs for trains and planes.
