ONLY 50% OF CANDIDATES HAVE NOT SUBMITTED THEIR APPLICATIONS
This year, for the first time, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University organized a computer-based entrance exam to serve admission purposes. Dr. Nguyen Anh Vu, Head of the School's Admissions and Brand Development Department, said that the university has completed all rounds of this year's exam. Accordingly, more than 1,200 candidates have taken the exam at the university (4 times the enrollment target for this admission method).
According to the school's regulations, early admission candidates must complete two steps. After registering information on the school's online portal, they must submit hard copies of their application to the school. However, Dr. Vu said: "Currently, the number of candidates submitting hard copies of their application to the school is only about 50% of the total number of online registrations. After the above notice period, candidates who have registered online but have not submitted their application to the school will not be eligible for admission."
REGISTER FOR OTHER EXAM REGISTER FOR ADMISSION
Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has completed the first round of the specialized competency assessment exam. Master Nguyen Ngoc Trung, Vice Principal of the school, said that the school announced the results of the first round of the exam for more than 4,000 candidates on May 31. However, candidates should note that they must register for admission using the specialized competency assessment results on the admission system before June 10. Candidates taking the first and second rounds of the exam must register for admission on time.
Candidates participating in the second round of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment exam this year
"Candidates need to distinguish between registering for the specialized competency assessment test and registering for admission as two separate, different things. If they do not register for admission on time, they will not be considered for early admission using the competency assessment test results," Master Trung noted.
This year, for the first time, Saigon University organized a computer-based university entrance exam for non-teacher training majors. Specifically, the school organized exams in 7 independent subjects including: math, English, physics, chemistry, biology, history, and geography. For literature, if included in the admission combinations, the admission score will be taken from the results of the 2023 high school graduation exam.
This year, the school will hold three rounds of exams, with the final round on May 27 and 28. However, according to a representative of the university, after taking the exam, candidates need to take the next step of registering for admission on the school's online system. "The school will issue detailed instructions for registration in the near future. In particular, the registration period will last until 5:00 p.m. on June 28," the representative informed.
WHY ARE THERE STILL FEW APPLICATIONS FOR RENEWAL?
Notably, there are units that extend the registration period but the number of candidates registering is still low, such as the admission method using the capacity assessment exam scores to Ho Chi Minh City National University.
Up to this point, Ho Chi Minh City National University has also finished organizing the 2023 competency assessment exam. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment (Ho Chi Minh City National University), said that the exam had nearly 42,300 candidates participating and the results were announced on June 6.
The admission registration system of Ho Chi Minh City National University will accept applications for admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam until June 10.
However, in parallel with the exam, candidates need to register for admission to schools using the results of this exam. Instead of ending on April 28, the online registration portal of this university has been extended to June 10 due to a record low number of candidates registering. However, after nearly a month of extension, according to data updated to May 30, the number of candidates registering using the results of the competency assessment exam to member units of Ho Chi Minh City National University is still low compared to 2022.
In particular, many units have registered only 40% or less of the previous year. For example, the University of Economics and Law has the highest number of registered students at nearly 11,000, but only about 40% compared to last year. Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences currently has over 9,500 registered students, reaching over 70% compared to 2022. Ho Chi Minh City University of Information Technology has over 7,500 students (reaching over 62%), Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities has over 6,800 (only 35% compared to last year), International University has over 4,900 (reaching over 46%)... Notably, the Ho Chi Minh City National University Branch in Ben Tre currently has only 8 registered students.
According to Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, the important thing that candidates need to do after taking the exam is to register for admission to universities and colleges that use the results of this exam. In particular, the registration system of Ho Chi Minh City National University will accept registrations until June 10. "After this time, candidates will no longer have the opportunity to participate in the admission to member units of Ho Chi Minh City National University and many other schools participating in this admission system," Dr. Chinh emphasized.
