In response to questions about the show intentionally using the couple's scandal for PR, Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong - representative of the producer affirmed: "Artists really need the halo and stories to refresh themselves with the audience. But I don't think Phuong Lan and Phan Dat created such a story for PR or to create an effect for us. I also hope you two will be happy."
Speaking more about the audience's reaction, Ms. Huong said that Phan Dat and Phuong Lan are just one of 40 pairs of contestants in the program, not the couple that will accompany them throughout the 10 episodes.

Sharing more about the show, the producer said that the 10 episodes of My Best Lover are a music competition for couples, where the boyfriends will show off their singing skills.
Meanwhile, the girls will choose to "invest" in the person they love or the voice of another guy that she thinks will win to receive the biggest reward.
"Talented" Thanh Duy will take on the role of MC. Accompanying the couples will be three members of the permanent commentary panel: Hari Won, Dieu Nhi and Sam.
In addition, each episode will welcome two special guests to join the Commentary Panel. They are prominent artists in many fields such as Cam Ly, Bui Cong Nam, Jun Pham, Kha Nhu, Neko Le, Quang Trung...
The commentary panel helps players come up with the right strategy to bring home the show's top prize, worth up to VND175 million per episode.
The songs in My Best Lover will be arranged and mixed by musician Le Thanh Tam and his colleagues. Director Duc Do will be in charge of the show's production.
“This is a special music program, so my criteria for choosing songs is to ensure that they are suitable for your voice and also carry the mark of your love,” musician Le Thanh Tam added.
