Seminar to celebrate the 56th anniversary of the Vietnam Blind Association

The Provincial Association of the Blind awarded certificates of merit to groups with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to build and develop the association.

The Vietnam Association for the Blind was established on April 17, 1969. After 56 years of operation and growth, the association has truly become a common home, helping many blind people across the country overcome their inferiority complex, gain confidence, and strive to build a prosperous and happy life.

In Quang Binh , the Association of the Blind was established in September 2000. Up to now, 8/8 districts, towns and cities have organized the association, with nearly 1,500 members. Over the past 25 years, the provincial Association of the Blind has done a good job of eliminating illiteracy for members.

The Association has also coordinated with relevant units to open dozens of vocational training classes on making bamboo toothpicks, brooms, and raising poultry for more than 370 members; built 65 "Great Unity" houses, repaired nearly 100 houses for the blind; guaranteed loans for members from the National Employment Fund to develop production and improve their lives with 113 projects, loan turnover of more than 5.6 billion VND, lending to 852 members. Thanks to loans for production and business development, many blind people have been able to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.

Currently, the provincial HNM has 5 massage parlors and 20 other parlors opened by the association, creating jobs for more than 100 members with an income of 4-6 million VND/person/month. In addition, the association also has 5 groups making bamboo toothpicks and brooms, creating seasonal jobs, contributing to increasing income for many blind people.

With the above efforts, the Provincial Blind Association was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the Party and State, twice received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister , and many times received emulation flags and rewards from all levels and sectors...

At the seminar, the students reviewed the 56-year tradition of the Vietnam Blind Association and the 25-year operation of the Quang Binh Blind Association. At the same time, they also shared their thoughts and feelings in life, encouraging each other to overcome difficulties to build a better life.

At the ceremony, many groups of the Blind Association were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial Blind Association for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to build and develop the association.
