From his perspective, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thanh Nam, Vice Principal of the University of Education (VNU Hanoi) believes that our education system is entering a new phase, greatly influenced by Artificial Intelligence. Therefore, in some aspects, it has affected the way the community or society establishes the position of teachers and the respect for teachers.

Technology has brought many opportunities to every teacher, perhaps changing the previous “uniform” approach to education - when education focused on knowledge, where the teacher’s role became the center of knowledge. Now, teachers no longer play the role of the center of knowledge. However, they perform many roles, not simply “teachers of words” but must transform themselves into educators, guides, inspirers, and motivators.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thanh Nam said: "Artificial intelligence or software, no matter how modern, cannot 'teach people' well. Because, teachers educate students with their own personality."

According to Mr. Nam, teachers need to re-establish their truly respected position in society. The State, ministries, departments and sectors need to be responsible for helping the community see and appreciate the contributions and influence of teachers. Policies on treatment and behavior also need to be focused on so that teachers also feel that their profession is respected and recognized. Teachers also need to become confident, autonomous and self-updating, so that AI is just a wise assistant and cannot replace their role.

In addition, teachers need to improve their digital capabilities, through which they can organize lectures and professional activities that utilize and integrate AI as a tool to improve quality and realize their educational ideas and goals. At that time, the role and position of teachers will be more clearly recognized by the community.

At the 8th Session of the National Assembly, the National Assembly discussed the draft Law on Teachers (November 20), delegate Nguyen Thi Viet Nga, the National Assembly delegation of Hai Duong province, said: The regulations on teacher training from Article 34 to Article 36 are burdensome because today is a learning society, lifelong learning and encourages self-study and research. Teachers need to improve their capacity and study regularly. However, this should not turn teachers into students with dense regulations on compulsory training, creating more pressure for teachers.

At the same time, delegate Nguyen Thi Viet Nga suggested reducing regulations that create pressure on certificates and mandatory training for teachers and regulations that require teachers to actively research and study to improve their skills and qualifications to meet job requirements.

Building and developing a team of creative teachers is a long-term process, requiring efforts and investment not only from teachers but also from educational management agencies and organizations. A team of creative teachers will be a solid foundation for the development of modern education, helping students not only learn knowledge but also practice independent thinking and problem-solving skills.
