Man in possession of 21 kg of drugs in Vung Tau

On March 29, Vung Tau City Police announced that they had busted a large-scale drug trafficking case, seizing 21 kg of drugs. This is the largest amount of drugs ever discovered in the city.

Previously, on March 27, through reconnaissance work, the police force conducted an administrative inspection of a rented room on Do Luong Street (Ward 11, Vung Tau City). Here, Nguyen Thanh Tuan was caught red-handed while possessing 1 kg of drugs.

Expanding the investigation, the police summoned LMC (born in 1987) and Tran Thi MT (born in 1994), who are related to the case.

At the police station, the subjects confessed that at noon on March 24, while collecting squid at a beach in Ward 10, C. discovered a black sack containing many rectangular packages wrapped tightly with gray tape.

On March 25, Tuan and T. went to C.'s house to drink. There, C. told Tuan about the sack of drugs and drove Tuan to the beach to get them back to his motel. To avoid detection, Tuan disguised the drugs in the sack.

When he arrived at his boarding house, Tuan opened the bag and discovered that it contained a white crystalline substance suspected to be drugs. Tuan took a picture of it with the intention of finding the seller.

In addition to the 1 kg of drugs initially seized, Tuan also confessed to hiding 20 more nylon packages containing white crystalline substance, totaling about 21 kg.

The authorities have seized and sealed the exhibits according to the provisions of law.

The case is being further investigated to handle those involved.

Vung Tau City Police Department recommends that if people discover packages of suspected drugs drifting at sea or on the coast, they must promptly report to the authorities and local authorities and proactively hand over and provide relevant information. Absolutely do not hide or store drugs because this is an illegal act and can lead to serious consequences.
