(NLDO) - The highway towards Ho Chi Minh City is congested, traffic police direct cars to National Highway 1.

On February 1 (the 4th day of Tet), after the Tet holidays, people from all over the country began to return to Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City.

By the afternoon of the same day, in Dong Nai province, due to the high number of vehicles, there were traffic jams on National Highway 51 (through Long Thanh district), Provincial Road 765 (through Xuan Loc district), Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway (through Long Thanh district) and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay (through Xuan Loc district).

In particular, on National Highway 1 - the section through Trang Bom district and National Highway 20 - the section through Soklu intersection (Thong Nhat district, from Dinh Quan district to Thong Nhat district), there was also a long line of vehicles waiting at the red light.

At the above locations, the authorities have regulated and separated traffic flows.

Traffic police force directs and regulates vehicles going towards Vo Nguyen Giap bypass, instead of National Highway 1 to Bien Hoa City and Ho Chi Minh City.

It is expected that tomorrow, the last day of the Tet holiday, people from the northern and central provinces and the southeastern provinces such as Binh Thuan, Ba Ria - Vung Tau will return to Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City in large numbers, making it difficult to avoid traffic jams, especially on National Highway 1 and the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.

Meanwhile, at 6 p.m. the same day, at the intersection between the access road to Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway and km1717+593 of National Highway 1 through Ham Kiem Commune, Ham Thuan Nam District, Binh Thuan Province, the Traffic Police force was still on duty to temporarily close the access road to Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway at Ba Bau intersection.

The temporary closure of the entrance began at around 3 p.m. the same day due to traffic congestion on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway heading North - South.

Currently, many vehicles from the Central provinces and tourist cars traveling to Phan Thiet returning to Ho Chi Minh City are waiting to enter Ba Bau intersection to get on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway.

However, the traffic police regulated these vehicles to go straight on National Highway 1.

Many cars stopped at a nearby gas station to rest, and many cars lined up on Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh street opposite the highway entrance to wait until traffic was allowed to resume on the highway.
