According to the reporter of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper at Tan Son Nhat airport, the time with the most passengers is from 5 to 6 pm.
Tan Son Nhat International Airport said that during the day, there were over 970 flights arriving and departing. The total number of passengers is expected to exceed 150,500, the highest during the Lunar New Year period, of which the number of arriving passengers is overwhelming with over 93,000 (domestic passengers are approximately 66,000). In general, during the peak period of Lunar New Year (from December 15, Giap Thin year to January 15, At Ty year), the total number of flights is expected to exceed 26,000, the total number of passengers exceeds 4 million, an increase of 5.36% over the same period last year. Of which, domestic passengers are over 2.5 million.
On the road, since the morning of the same day, many roads leading to Ho Chi Minh City have been crowded. In the West, Le Kha Phieu Street, Le Duc Anh Street (formerly National Highway 1) are packed with cars and motorbikes from Dong Thap, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh provinces... coming. On the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway and National Highway 50 (from Da Phuoc to Nguyen Van Linh Street), vehicles are also very crowded. The Eastern, New Eastern, and Western bus stations have seen a sharp increase in the number of arrivals. Every time the bus arrives at the station, many passengers rush off with large and small luggage and gifts from home. Ms. Quach Thu Ngan, who traveled from Kien Giang to Ho Chi Minh City, commented that the Western bus station this year is much more crowded than last year. Therefore, even though she booked her ticket a month in advance, she still had difficulty choosing a seat on the bus.
A representative of the Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Ho Chi Minh City Police explained that people returning to the city to work and study has resulted in an increase in the number of vehicles participating in road traffic. PC08 has requested many units to proactively deploy forces at gateway areas, national highways, bus stations, train stations, airports, etc. to regulate and divide traffic flows to ensure stable and smooth traffic.
PC08 recommends that road users strictly comply with traffic safety regulations. In addition, proactively update information on the situation via mass media to promptly adjust travel routes appropriately to limit congestion.
Mr. Le Anh Tuan, Director of Saigon Railway Transport Branch, informed that currently, Saigon station has 15 trains arriving with about 7,500 passengers every day; from February 3, it will increase to 16 trains with about 8,000 passengers from provinces and cities to Ho Chi Minh City.
