Through each historical period, the Party has always renewed and reformed itself to meet revolutionary requirements and the aspirations of the nation.
Over the past 95 years, the Communist Party of Vietnam has steadfastly led the people to overcome countless challenges. Today, with steadfast political determination and the deep trust of the entire people, the Party continues to be the leading flag, leading Vietnam firmly into a new era of national development.
The guiding torch
In the early years of the 20th century, when the country was immersed in the dark night of slavery under the domination of French colonialism, our people continuously rose up to fight to regain independence. However, patriotic movements failed one after another due to the lack of a correct direction and a tight leadership organization.
In that context, the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3, 1930, under the founding of leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, became a great turning point, responding to the urgent needs of the nation.
Since its founding, the Party has affirmed its revolutionary and scientific nature, carrying the mission of leading the people in the struggle for independence, freedom and building a just, democratic and civilized society. The birth of the Party is not only the crystallization of the nation's patriotism and will for independence, but also the fusion of Marxism-Leninism with the reality of the Vietnamese revolution.
The first documents of the Party drafted by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc laid the foundation for the revolutionary path of national liberation, affirming that only by following the path of proletarian revolution, under the leadership of a new type of political party, could the Vietnamese people regain independence. This was a historical inevitability, the result of the intersection between the aspiration for national liberation and the advanced revolutionary ideology of the time.
Over the past 95 years, the Communist Party of Vietnam has constantly innovated and created to meet the requirements of each revolutionary period. From the early days of facing the fierce repression of French colonialism, the Party quickly shaped the correct strategic line, combining national liberation with social revolution. In particular, the birth of the Viet Minh Front gathered the strength of the entire people, creating the premise for the victory of the August Revolution in 1945, freeing the nation from slavery and moving forward to build a people's government.
After the August Revolution, our country faced countless difficulties - from famine, illiteracy to threats from foreign invaders. President Ho Chi Minh's call to "eliminate hunger, illiteracy, and foreign invaders" demonstrated the Party's strategic vision in mobilizing the strength of the entire people. By skillfully combining people's war and diplomatic activities, the Party led the nation to great victories in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in 1954 and the Great Spring Victory in 1975, completely liberating the South and reunifying the country.
Innovation, creativity
After the country's reunification, our Party continued to lead the people to overcome the difficulties of the post-war period and prolonged socio-economic crises.
The 6th National Congress of the Party in 1986 marked a historic turning point when the Party boldly renewed its thinking, abandoned the centralized, bureaucratic, subsidized economic model, and shifted to a socialist-oriented market economy. The Doi Moi process not only brought about remarkable economic achievements but also brought Vietnam deeper integration into the region and the world, enhancing the country's position in the international arena.
From the role of organizer and leader of the national liberation movement, our Party has matured to become the leader of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the integration period. The context of globalization and the strong development of science and technology has opened up a period of development full of potential but also many challenges. The Party has clearly defined strategic orientations to lead the country in the new era, the era in which Vietnam affirms its position in the international arena.
First of all, the Party identifies sustainable development as the focus of all policies. This is not only an economic goal but also a strategic orientation to solve social, environmental and cultural issues. In the new period, Vietnam faces challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, the need to improve people's quality of life... In the face of these challenges, the Party has proposed a series of solutions such as: promoting a circular economy, developing green industry, building smart cities...
In its vision for 2045 - marking the 100th anniversary of the country's founding, the Party is committed to making Vietnam a developed, high-income country where all people have access to modern services and live in a sustainable environment. This commitment demonstrates the Party's high responsibility towards the people's expectations.
One of the breakthroughs emphasized by the Party is digital transformation and the application of science and technology in all areas of life. This is not only a global trend but also an opportunity for Vietnam to shorten the gap with developed countries.
The Party has set the goal of building a digital government, digital economy, and digital society, considering it the key to enhancing national competitiveness. Meanwhile, programs to develop artificial intelligence, big data, and blockchain technology are the main driving forces to modernize the economy. The Party affirms that all technological innovations must be deployed on a platform for the people, for the people.
Focus on Party building and rectification
The Communist Party of Vietnam constantly focuses on Party building and rectification and reorganizing the state apparatus to meet development requirements in the new period.
Deeply aware that improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management is the foundation for strengthening people's trust, the Party has issued many important resolutions, such as Resolution 18/2017 on continuing to innovate and reorganize the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently. The goal is not only to reduce the number but also to improve the quality of the staff and civil servants; review functions and tasks, eliminate overlap and unnecessary positions.
Administrative reform is a focus that the Party emphasizes, with solutions such as: modernizing management, simplifying administrative procedures, developing online public services and building a digital government. Thereby, creating favorable conditions for people and businesses, enhancing national competitiveness.
The fight against corruption has also been vigorously carried out, with the spirit of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions," demonstrating the determination to clean up the leadership apparatus and meet the people's expectations of an honest and transparent government organization. At the same time, the Party focuses on training and fostering young cadres with capacity, political courage and pure ethics, creating conditions for them to participate in leadership positions, contributing to ensuring inheritance and innovation in the management apparatus.
Not only focusing on internal issues, the Party also emphasizes the promotion of national solidarity. The people are the center and the subject of all policies, and this has become the guiding principle in the Party's leadership. Gathering strength from all social classes, arousing the people's patriotism, creativity and dedication is a strong internal resource for the country to go far. In addition to providing direction, the Party is also a companion of the people, listening, absorbing and adjusting policies to meet the aspirations of the entire people.
Over the past 95 years, the Communist Party of Vietnam has constantly innovated and created to meet the requirements of each revolutionary period.
Integration is a key strategy
Identifying deep international integration as a key strategy, the Party affirms that Vietnam will continue to be an active and responsible member of the international community, contributing to global peace, cooperation and sustainable development.
The new generation of free trade agreements and treaties that Vietnam has signed open up opportunities for economic development, helping to enhance the country's position and prestige in the international arena. Integration not only has economic significance but is also an opportunity for Vietnam to convey its cultural values and national identity to the world, affirming its role in the human community.
