After nearly 40 years of innovation, Vietnam has achieved great achievements in all fields. In the difficult challenges of the post-war period, the Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City government focused on providing rice for the people and raw materials for factories to maintain production. The COVID-19 pandemic is a big challenge and Ho Chi Minh City is the most severely affected. From 65 USD in 1975, by the end of 2024, the average income per capita in Ho Chi Minh City is 7,758 USD. Ho Chi Minh City has basically completed the multidimensional poverty eradication and the city's income poverty line has always been raised, higher than the national standard. One of the expected targets for the new term is to strive for Ho Chi Minh City's average income per capita to reach about 13,000 - 14,000 USD by 2030, among the top in the country and surpassing the high-income threshold.
