On February 14, Miss Ngoc Han shared with Tuoi Tre Online about the event promoting Vietnamese ao dai that she held at the Etihad Museum, Dubai.

Ao dai - Vietnamese - Arabic cultural resonance

The Ao Dai exhibition is part of the Vietnamese Soul exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to promote the beauty of Vietnamese culture and art in the Middle East.

The event took place from February 11, displaying paintings by many famous artists such as Dang Phuong Viet, Khong Do Duy, Nguyen Thanh Quang, Dang Thi Thu An, Nguyen Duc Huy, Nguyen Minh Son, Vuong Linh... along with an exhibition of ao dai by Ngoc Han.

All paintings and ao dai are inspired by Vietnamese culture and people.

Ngoc Han is the only ao dai designer invited to participate in the exhibition at this important cultural and diplomatic event.

At the exhibition "Vietnamese Soul", Ngoc Han's ao dai is displayed according to the theme of 5 collections in the large space of the Etihad Museum.

She specially brought a mica mannequin designed by herself to display the ao dai, with motifs inspired by Middle Eastern culture and a conical hat as a highlight in the middle of the museum's lobby.

According to Ngoc Han, the idea is to show cultural exchange and also express her respect for the UAE and its beautiful culture and people.

Bringing Le Thiet Cuong's paintings and Hanoi features to Ao Dai

In her speech at the opening of the exhibition, Ngoc Han shared the reason why she brought 5 ao dai collections combined with fine arts to Dubai.

The "Kim Hoang Painting" collection honors the folk paintings that appeared in Vietnam from the 18th - 19th centuries. The Ao Dai collection recreates the beauty of this art form that was once popular in the history of national culture, with a characteristic bright color palette associated with the traditional Tet atmosphere.

The "At Ty" collection uses gouache paintings by famous contemporary artist Le Thiet Cuong in his series of the same name as motifs on the ao dai, offering a unique perspective on the year 2025.

The collection "Net Ha Thanh" is Ngoc Han's perspective on Hanoi, inspired by the Hanoi paintings of artist Le Thiet Cuong.

The collection "Net Sen" - a special creation by Ngoc Han and artist Dang Phuong Viet - is a gift that both of them gave exclusively to the exhibition "Hon Viet".

The "UAE Light" Ao Dai collection is inspired by the magical beauty of the sunlight reflecting on the desert, blending with the vibrant colors of the UAE national emblem and flag.

In addition, the typical patterns of the Middle East and the delicate shapes of the traditional Abaya costumes of women here also become a special source of inspiration, creating a unique blend between Vietnamese beauty and the mysterious spirit of the Arabian land.

According to Ngoc Han, every time she promotes ao dai in countries outside of Vietnam, she always wants to bring that country's culture to Vietnamese ao dai in order to find cultural resonance.
