On July 10, Mr. Nguyen Minh Dat, Director of Khanh Hoa Sports Technical Training Center, said that he had signed a decision to temporarily suspend Mr. Dang Dao - Coach of Khanh Hoa U.19 team from July 9 so that the Department of Culture and Sports Inspectorate can continue to clarify the suspicion that he "embezzled" money from the players.

"Currently, there is no conclusion of the inspection. However, when there was a document from the department establishing an inspection team and a directive document, the center decided to temporarily suspend coach Dang Dao, and at the same time provided records and documents as requested by the inspector. In addition, the center also transported the players to the inspector for questioning to clarify the incident," Mr. Dat informed.

According to the information obtained by reporters, the U.19 Khanh Hoa team has a total of 22 players, including 11 players who receive a recruitment allowance of nearly 10 million VND/player/month and 11 players who receive a youth allowance of nearly 7 million VND/player/month. The monthly money transfers to the players are made by the Khanh Hoa Sports Technical Training Center via ATM cards. However, the coach of the U.19 Khanh Hoa team keeps all the players' ATM cards and spends them on his own.

Coach Dang Dao (52 years old) is a former player of Khanh Hoa Club, was the top scorer in V-League 2001, with 11 goals after 18 matches. After retiring, Mr. Dang Dao has been involved in coaching young players of Khanh Hoa for more than 12 years.

Not only that, according to the Director of Khanh Hoa Sports Technical Training Center, in addition to the U.19 coach, the Inspector of Khanh Hoa Department of Culture and Sports also inspected the coaches of the U.15, U.17, and U.21 teams of Khanh Hoa, who were also involved in keeping the players' ATM cards.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nhuan, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the department's inspectors are still working and will soon have an inspection conclusion on the above incident.

According to Mr. Nhuan, this is a serious incident, the department's viewpoint is to act seriously, handle it thoroughly and not cover up violations.
