The program was written by People's Artist Tran Binh and directed by the general director with the participation of artists: People's Artist Quoc Hung, Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, Xuan Hao, singers Hoang Viet Danh, Thanh Thao, Trung Sy, Hue Thuong, Thoi Gian group, Phuong Nam group...
The Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) will perform a special art program with the theme "Dien Bien Memories" taking place at 8:00 p.m. on May 4, at the Hanoi Opera House.
Sharing about the program, People's Artist Tran Binh said: "The Dien Bien Phu victory in May 1954 was the pinnacle of Vietnamese military intelligence, the great victory of the resistance war against France. Every Vietnamese person, when mentioning the great victory of the nation, cannot forget the historic Dien Bien Phu victory with pride and honor for a miracle "Resounding throughout the Five Continents, shaking the Earth", a majestic monument of the dignity, intelligence, bravery and spirit of the Vietnamese people in the new era. The program will bring the audience back to the story of the nation 7 decades ago through heroic but extremely romantic songs such as: "Bo Doi Ve Lang", "Em Be Muong La", "Tinh Ca Tay Bac" ... with the desire to relive the historical period of the nation with veterans, parents and rekindle national pride for today's young generation".
People's Artist Quoc Hung and Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan participate in the Program
The program opened with a medley of songs from Dien Bien today: "Northwest Love Song" (Poetry: Cam Giang - Music: Bui Duc Hanh), "The sound of the flute in the blooming season of Ban flowers" (Poetry: Nguyen Nhu - Music: Le Minh), especially a new song composed by musician Tung Lam - "Dien Bien Memories".
Next is a musical space created by medleys that have been meticulously staged over the years, showing the heroic living and fighting context of our army and people during the years of resistance against the French.
People's Artist Quoc Hung shared: "The 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory is a very big anniversary, everyone wants to sing in programs celebrating this important event."
Having worked with the Contemporary Arts Theater for many years and participated in many major events of the country, People's Artist Quoc Hung said: "I am honored and proud to sing in the program "Dien Bien Memories...", with the works of the late musician Do Nhuan "On Him Lam Hill" and "Binh Tri Thien Khoi Lua" by musician Nguyen Van Thuong. "On Him Lam Hill" is a song that suits my voice, a true baritone voice and very strong. This work has invested in making a MV for Vietnam Television and Dien Bien province, and in the program, I will perform this song again. Meanwhile, the second song "Binh Tri Thien Khoi Lua" by the late musician Nguyen Van Thuong is a classic work in Vietnamese music, taking us along the length of the country. This is a good work in terms of structure, rhythm, and changes in the emotions of the work, bringing many emotions. If "On Him Lam Hill" keeps the original arrangement in the MV, then "Binh Tri Thien Khoi Lua" will have a new arrangement, so that the work more modern, more epic".
Two artists Viet Danh and Xuan Hao will also perform songs celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory.
Performing in the program "Dien Bien Memories", Viet Danh feels lucky, happy and proud in the days when the army and people of the whole country are looking forward to the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien victory: "I am a soldier, an artist, so the pride is even greater when I get to sing songs about Dien Bien, about the resounding victory, about the heroes of that period, so I also have more spirit, energy, and excitement on this special occasion".
"The songs that Viet Danh performed in the program have heroic, emotional melodies that touch people's hearts, deeply imprinted in the hearts of every Vietnamese person, not just those who lived and fought in Dien Bien. When the melody is played, everyone seems to relive those historical moments" - the male singer expressed.
However, performing a work that has stood the test of time, left an impression on people, and is associated with the names of great artists also poses many challenges for artist Viet Danh. He said: "With such epic songs that live forever, and the current music listening trends of young people are undergoing major changes, it is very difficult for a young performer to make an impression. However, I try to find a way to create a new breath, re-arrange the work, have appropriate creativity, renew but still maintain the traditional quality of the song, still the heroic, emotional, in order to leave an impression on the previous generation, and to let the current generation feel the work more easily and deeply"./.
