(NADS) - Nghe An Province, Vietnam and Ulyanov Province, Russia have established friendly and cooperative relations since 2007. In 2015, with the approval of the Central Party Secretariat, Nghe An Province coordinated with Ulyanov Province to build a statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Ulyanov. The area for the statue was arranged by Ulyanov Province and donated to Nghe An Province with an area of over 2,000m2.
In 2017, the delegation of Nghe An province's leaders coordinated with the government of Ulyanov province, Ulyanov city, the Russian Federation and the Association of Vietnamese "Solidarity" in Ulyanov to inaugurate the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Ulyanov. The statue of President Ho Chi Minh has a 3m high pedestal, a 5m high statue, made of pure copper, taken from the prototype in Ho Chi Minh Square, Nghe An province. The location of the statue of President Ho Chi Minh is the central area of Ulyanov city, at the intersection, at the beginning of Ho Chi Minh Avenue and located in the complex of Ho Chi Minh Square and High School 76, now renamed Ho Chi Minh High School.
Implementing the direction of the Central Party Secretariat, the policy of building a statue of VILenin in Vinh city, Nghe An province was agreed upon by Ulyanov province, Russian Federation. According to the agreement between the two provinces, Ulyanov province cast the statue of VILenin in the Russian Federation and transported it to Vinh city, Nghe An province for installation. Nghe An province built the campus to place the statue . The Ulyanov provincial government donated the statue of VILenin to Nghe An province to strengthen the good cooperative relationship between the two provinces and contribute to consolidating the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
The statue of VI Lenin in Vinh city symbolizes the friendship between Vietnam and Russia, and is also a cultural and artistic symbol, expressing the sacred feelings of the people of the two provinces for each other. area of 1,036.5 square meters. Moreover, from these cultural diplomacy activities, the two provinces will be more closely connected in bilateral cooperation activities in the fields of investment, trade, health, education and training, tourism, etc.
The construction of the statue's campus and pedestal in Vinh city was started by Vinh City People's Committee in February 2020 and completed in June 2020, with an area of 1,036.5m2 . The pedestal is 3m high, made of steel; the front is engraved with the words "VILÊ - NIN, 1870-1924" in Russian and Vietnamese; the back is engraved with the words "Symbol of Vietnam - Russia friendship" in Russian and Vietnamese.
Currently, Nghe An province is coordinating with Ulyanov province to prepare to welcome and work with the Ulyanov province delegation led by the Deputy Governor to visit and work in Nghe An and attend the inauguration ceremony of the statue of Lenin in Vinh city, scheduled to take place on April 15-16, 2024.
