(CLO) On February 11 (January 14, At Ty year), at the special national relic site of King Mai Hac De's tomb, Nam Dan town, the Party Committee and government of Nam Dan district (Nghe An) solemnly held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate and open the King Mai Temple Festival in 2025. The event is associated with the 1,312th anniversary of the Hoan Chau uprising, a heroic mark in the history of the nation.
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province. Also attending were representatives of departments, leaders of Nam Dan district, neighboring districts and a large number of people and tourists from all over.

The Van An festival drum concert program along with the dragon and lion dances recreates the indomitable spirit and strong will of King Mai Thuc Loan and his army.
The Mai King Temple Festival is held from January 13 to 15 every year to commemorate the merits of Emperor Mai Thuc Loan and the generals and soldiers who fought bravely, defeated the Tang invaders, and established the independent Van An country for 10 years (713 - 722). This is an opportunity for people to review the heroic spirit of the Hoan Chau uprising, arouse national pride and educate patriotism, especially for the younger generation.
Not only having profound historical significance, the festival is also an opportunity to organize cultural and sports activities, enriching the spiritual life of the people, while promoting the Mai Hac De historical and cultural relic - one of the special national relics, contributing to the development of tourism in Nam Dan district in particular and Nghe An province in general.

Before the opening ceremony, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Dan district and local people held a grand ceremony according to traditional rituals at the King Mai temple, in Mai Hac De block, Nam Dan town.
At the opening ceremony, delegates and people enjoyed the Van An drum concert, dragon and lion dances performed by artists from the Nam Dan District Culture, Sports and Communications Center. This was followed by the ritual of chanting the eulogy, beating the drum to open the festival and offering incense to commemorate King Mai, expressing respect and gratitude to the national hero.

During the festival, many unique cultural and sports activities are organized such as youth camp, men's volleyball, wrestling, stick pushing, chess, cockfighting, etc., creating a vibrant festival atmosphere, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate.

The Mai King Temple Festival is not only an occasion to commemorate the merits of our ancestors but also contributes to preserving and promoting traditional cultural identity, connecting the community and developing local tourism.
